Dragon Nest Guild Wars : Preview & Introduction~!
So our content patch for this month of July seems to be Guild Wars ~!
I was given an opportunity to have a sneak peak of this new content and will now share it with you people
The first thing that caught my eye about Guild Wars is the Guild War Costumes~!
Note that they will not be available at the current release as they will only be available once official guild war events have kick-started.
As our current version is the beta, the Guild War Armor Costumes will not be available till then @_@
If I’m not mistaken, the guild war armor costumes can only be earned via official guild war events, which we will not have available upon the release today, but definitely in the near future I believe.
However, feast your eyes upon what you can expect to come
So the red represents the “Chaos” Team and blue represents the “Ancient” Team.
I’ll now share with everyone the mechanics of Guild Wars, which you should definitely know when trying out this awesome new feature
General Knowledge
Number of Players that can participate: Up to 16 per team
Know that the beta version of this new feature allows you to create select the format of the guild war.
This means that you choose between these options like any other normal pvp map you can create in Colosseum.
In other words, it can be Player created guild war rooms can be :
- Compensation ON/OFF
- Show HP ON/OFF
- Item ON/OFF
- Late Join ON/OFF
EDIT: You can only choose between Compensation Mode ON/OFF and Item ON/OFF. Show HP is OFF and Late Join is ON by default and you CANNOT edit these options
This should clear up many immediate queries that many people have.
In other words, the current guild wars we have is just another Large Scale PVP room WITH NO restrictions.
By this I mean you can have anyone playing against anyone in these player-created guild war rooms.
There’s no need for the players to come from the same guild for the guild-war room to commence.
Of course if you want to have a Guild vs Guild, Guild War room, by all means
However in the future, I believe Official Guild War Events have a selection process which I’m not informed at the moment.
I’ll now move on to the general mechanics of Guild Wars.
Upon starting and entering the map, there will be a count down timer of 32mins.
2 minutes will be counted down for players to plan and discuss what they want to do.
After which the portals for both teams will be open.
See screenshots below on how the portals look like~!
These portals will bring you outside of your own fortress for you to commence your attack on the opposing team!
Note that you can’t exit by running towards the gate as the gate is meant for the opposing team to destroy.
Here’s are the simple objectives of the Guild Wars.
- Capture and Occupy Points (About 5 Capture Points, generates points while you own them)
- Destroy Opposing Team’s Gate (Have to destroy, otherwise you can’t reach the energy crystal)
- Destroy Opposing Team’s Energy Relics
- If unable to compete Point 3, team with highest points earned from Occupational Points wins.
I’ll provide screenshots of the abovementioned below
There are around 5 such points in the Guild Wars map.
1 which will be extremely close to your own fortress
2 on each side of the map
and 1 at the centre of the map
This is as far as I can remember >_<
So what’s the point of capturing such points aside from it generating points like in Occupational War?
Points generated from the Capture Points can be used to summon siege weapons which are extremely important if you want to take down the gate quickly~!
Note: Only party leaders can summon and use guild war skills
There are 2 siege weapons that you can summon:
- Ballista
- Trebuchet / Catapult
Do know that the ballista does lesser damage compared to the Trebuchet.
Also don’t summon the Trebuchet right infront of the gate, it will not be able to function~!
Summon it a distance away from the gate for it to work!
I believe every party leader can summon a ballista and a trebuchet.
This means that if it was a 16v16 guild war, there can be a total of 4 trebuchet and 4 ballista to summon provided you have enough points~!
As I’ve previewed Guild Wars in Compensation ON mode, I believe that these weapons are of paramount importance if you want to take down the Gate~!
Skills does little damage to the gate.
So work hard in occupying those capture points so that you can summon these siege weapons~!
Upon destroying the gate, you can now advance towards the Energy Relics of the opposing team!
However it is not that simple unlike the “defenseless” gate, the Energy Relics is like a defensive tower that is equipped with various devastating skills!
There are 2 main skills the Energy Relic can use:
- Death Ray
- Purple Bombardment
I’m not too sure if the death ray actually kills you in 1 hit, but it is definitely very damaging.
Skills cast by the Energy Relic is quite easily dodged if you know how it works and how the animation looks like~!
The purple bombardment skill works similar to the how Judge Apocalypse summons his purple AOE skill when he’ s below 2x HP bar.
Easily dodged, but once you’re caught and do not have aerial evasion, you’re most probably dead as well >_<
So do not get complacent when you managed to breach the gates as this Energy Relic is difficult to deal with as well D:!
Well I believe that we are actually going to be seeing more updates after this Guild Wars Content Patch update~!
Try to haggle a guess by looking at the other screenshots that I have of the preview of Guild Wars!

Before I go, I’ll list the Frequently Asked Questions (FAQ) about Guild Wars Release in DNSEA
Q1: Compensation ON/OFF?
You can select and choose which mode you want when you create the guild war mode pvp map yourself
Whether Official Guild War Events is ON/OFF, I do not know ):
Q2: Are the Guild War Armor Costumes Set Available Yet? How do I acquire them?
As of now, I believe they are not available until Official Guild War Events are announced, stay tuned until then.
Yes I know… they look awesome!
Q3: Is having a mount necessary? Is it provided or I need to have 1 to be able to use it?
From what I’ve seen while trying out in the preview, I believe that you are able to use the mounts that you own.
I don’t see any default mounts being provided D:!
Also having a mount is extremely important to move around the map quickly.
The guild war map is extremely large.
To travel from your own fortress to your enemy fortress gate using a mount will take at least 10-20 seconds D:!
Q4: How do I participate in Official Guild Wars Events / Non-Official Guild War Rooms?
I believe that you will need to go to the Guild Adventure Alliance NPC and register your character.
You will need to do so before participating in any Guild War rooms, including non-official ones I believe.
That’s all the questions that I can think of, let me know if you have any else in the comments below and I’ll try to answer them as best as I can.
Hope you guys enjoyed this little sneak peak while you waited for maintenance to be over

are there any rewards after the war gets over?
So do we earn guild points by playing guild wars, or by running dungeons and completing commission board quests?
oh and the price of mount medals are going to blow up so high D:
what about Guild Achievement ?
do we have to reach some high of Guild Achievement score to participate on Guild War ?
what I heard was that there will be a multitude of criteria that contribute to the selecting of guilds after you register for the official guild war events. multitude of criteria meaning they will take into account not just the guild points but some other points which I don’t know for now >_<
Hey Kazu ^^ could you post something about GW skills? Thank you~
aside from the catapult and ballista, I wasn’t a party leader myself, So I couldn’t see what was available, sorry about that >_<
Question on those costumes.. like others, do they also provide stat bonus?
oh. i love your post. +1 to this and to you. you made my day because i thought GvG would be just comp-off. Cheers!
Aw i thought its already final XD tsk i didnt read this part
Q1: Compensation ON/OFF?
You can select and choose which mode you want when you create the guild war mode pvp map yourself
Whether Official Guild War Events is ON/OFF, I do not know ):
There is another way to get to your enemys crystal, you can use this skill called Beam Me Up, well thats what we call it in NA, what it does is opens severals portals directly to the enemys base, so you’ll able to attack the enemy crystal without destroying gates. However it has a 5 minute cooldown. Maybe you could add that to your guide
Oh forgot to mention that the portals last for 1 minute.
How do you use the guild skills? is there a hot key to see all the guild skills?
Becoming a party leader in the map is random?
is guild wars can be played by 10 persons? 5 on the blue team and 5 on the red?
continuously i used to read smaller articles or reviews that
also clear their motive, and that is also happening with
this paragraph which I am reading here.
