Insights/Clarifications on Avengers of Lagendia Title~!

There have been a number of concerns and complaints regarding this new title.

This article servers to provide some insights as well as some clarifications on it :)

For those who didn’t know what’s at stake here… see below.

So what’s the big deal?

Ever since this title event was launched, many players went to see if Dragon Nest North America (DN NA) hosted by Nexon is also conducting something similar.

Indeed they were but some felt that it was conducted even better… why?

Firstly it’s the difference in the requirements.

See below for DNSEA’s requirements followed by DN NA’s.

DNSEA – Title Event Completion Requirement

taken from http://dragonnest.nexon.net/news/news/00EyH/update-avengers-of-altera-event

I believe that there have been many events conducted in DNSEA to motivate/push players to level more than 1 Level 40 Character.

So definitely, many will feel that DN NA’s title event completion requirements will seemed to be much simpler and less tedious to do.

Aside from the difference in completion requirements, the main concern was this:

DN NA’s title was said to be permanent while DNSEA’s version of the title will only last 14 days

The first thing that came to many players mind will definitely be this:

why am I spending so much more effort on a title, which only last 14 days, but in DN NA, it seems to be alot more worthwhile since it’s permanent”

I believe the main issue is the duration of the title.

But before I get to that, let me shed some light into some key concepts that you guys should be aware off.

Avengers of Lagendia essentially gives 400patk/matk and 3.5k HP & 2.5kMP

The HP/MP isn’t a main concern but you need to take a look at how much 400patk/matk is.

Here’s the stats table for every class excluding academic but essentially, academics get 0.5 matk per INT and 0.5 patk per AGI

400patk/matk basically constitutes 800 STR/AGI/INT for every class.

EIGHT HUNDRED worth of status points.

At this current level cap, 3rd stat plates with Patk/Matk gives you an increase of 59.

Now even with 7 3rd stat plates, you will only have 413 increase in damage

Essentially, this gives 7 3rd stat plates worth of stats.

So what’s the point here?

Point is this title is that it is possibly over-powered (OP) as much as the 200FD that Addison Kang have been suggesting to give on his facebook page during a poll.

for those who voted 200FD maybe you want to think twice now. 200FD is worth over 3 3rd stat FD plates worth of FD. anyway that’s another issue altogether, let’s not digress.

Should this title be permanent it will essentially nerf the game and make it definitely less enjoyable in the long run

I know understand that the title is a huge status boost for players who can’t afford all the expensive 3rd stat plates or perfect potential rings/weapons.

I mean… who doesn’t want to see huge damage popping out while they are nesting doing dungeons, but wait… imagine everyone who completed the event during it’s given duration to having it permanently.

Will it be fair to newer players who missed the event? Won’t they feel that it is unfair that they had missed it? Newer players will definitely look at players who have the title and go hmmm… I can’t have that anymore right?

I;m suggesting  that this title be allowed for any characters below the level cap to make it easier for them to grind and level up, but there will definitely be complications in DNSEA because of the hybrid FTG system whereby your FTG consumption is reduced when you’re not at level cap. And giving such a title to less-level-cap characters to definitely cause complications.

In other words I believe it’s fine for this title to stay as a possible “quest-based” title that new players can complete once they hit a minimum level of 24 since that’s when you can start nesting and this title will definitely be of great great help. This title will last 14 days which will definitely aid you in the game while you hunt and earn your own gear.

————————-

Okay… so what’s next?

Players need to realize that in the DN NA version where it is permanent, the event only last for a certain duration.

Okay … nothing wrong with making an event exclusive so you can drive more players to complete it…

think again…

You see as I’ve mentioned above, the purpose of the title I believe is to help new players who have started on their first character to have an easier time grinding the dungeons so it’s easier to start out.

Current players who are not geared enough can use the title to aid them in farming which essentially makes it easier for them to get earn/farm/acquire gear as well.

Most games die out because the economy of the game has matured to a state (mostly due to inflation) whereby it is extremely expensive/difficult for new players to play the game.

Point is this, once the event is over, players that have missed the event will no longer have a chance to get it until a later point in time should it even be brought back.

Many new players or current players who missed the event will no longer have such an “OP” title that is “permanent”.

In other words, having the title to be “permanent” is not wise at all. It basically gimps your player base in the long run, in my opinion of course.

Well well anyway, DN NA has spoken as well.

DN NA has changed their title to be only lasting 30 days and also extended it to 31st July 2012

If I can recall, Purin (Super Moderator) in Cherry Credits forums has acknowledged the feedback given by concerned forumers as well.

As I’ve mentioned to many other players as well who always compare DNSEA and DN NA…

There have been many other instances whereby DN NA seems to be giving out better rewards as well.

They have given out +12 Lvl40 Rare Main Weapon Vortex Codes as prizes during their Level40 cap release etc.

But know that these reflects possible desperation by them in keeping players.

For those who don’t know the state of DN NA, go read up about the bunny exploit issues they had during 24 cap which caused huge inflation in their game economy. How badly it has affected them? Well imagine this…  A +12 lvl24 rare skeleton sword in DN NA at one time cost 7-9k gold while a similar sword with perfect potential in DNSEA will only cost 1-1.2k gold. This is snowballed to the current situation in their game.

Here’s another response from a forumer which makes sense…

I hope DNSEA will not go to a state whereby players are being overly spoon-fed.

We did have our very fair share of “spoon-feeding” like the free +1 if your manti/apoc set was at +7/8 which will get them to +8/9

We also had events whereby manticore/apocalypse crafting materials were handled out to us if we completed certain tasks.

But if you still haven’t realized, they more often than not do not give us the materials required for the full set. (meaning they are not entirely carrying us, just giving us a hand)

Moreover, the events are usually tied to certain future updates that the game is going to receive

for example, all the abovementioned dnsea events were conducted before sea dragon nest patch was released. CC know that the player base needs to be geared before it is released. There were even stats announced like 68% of dnsea players have at least 5 piece manticore/apocalypse set a week before SDN was released.

Similarly, the “Avengers of Lagendia” title can be said to aid new/current players in their nesting/farming/grinding in DNSEA, but for me…

I see the title as an opportunity for teams to try and beat the previous SDN Completion timing of 34mins.

If I’m not mistaken, a team has already broke that timing with the fastest timing I’ve seen so far to be 25+ minutes and maybe an announced one could even be faster.

In other words, events always serve a purpose whenever they are launched in DNSEA, which shows that Cherry Credits do put some thought in their events.

I know many will disagree but some thought is better than none at all ;p And I believe that events released have always been improving since DNSEA is released.

For DNSEA side, we are also getting an extension of duration for the completion of the title event.

For more details refer to this: http://dn.cherrycredits.com/news-single.php?title=142802-event-extended-the-avengers-of-lagendia-event

I still believe that the requirements for the completion of the title can be toned down just a little.

I’ve did it on a non-geared character “SecretSwrd” which is my future gladiator at lvl 36, and yes it definitely sucked.

Lyzbeth did it as well, and definitely was complaining about finishing it.

As I’m used to “Grinding” I finished the requirements in a day, while Lyzbeth took around 3 days.

So depending on what type of player you are, do pace yourself.

I do believe the purpose of the event is also to expose players to other “dungeons” or “instances” of the game where most players don’t visit as they don’t find that they are beneficial.

Doing chaos dungeons actually gives a wide variety of item crafting materials which can be sold for a decent amount of gold (yes even at this state, you can still earn some gold)

Know that the theme park coupons that you earned can be exchanged for a variety of useful items, some which I’ll mention below.

  • Intermediate Crystal Code (Rare) – Definitely useful if you want to stock up while you’re leveling for those perfect potentials on your weapons
I’ve stocked up over 5-10 stacks of 5 on my SecretSwrd in preparation of perfect potential lvl40 rare weapons
  • NPC Gifts (EPIC) – It’s more for getting the NPC to 100% Friendship as EPIC gifts do not give extra Guild Points
And if anyone wants the title to stay, I believe it’s okay if it’s under the guidelines of what I’ve mentioned above
  • Title lasts for 14days, receive at level 24 (or require the player to complete certain objectives before receiving probably through the completion of a quest)
With that I just want to end off with this before I fly off to Shanghai, China for Chinajoy…
I always believe that a game will only last as long as it’s gaming community.
Without a vibrant and mature gaming community, the game will definitely diminish a lot faster.
Ultimately, as gamers, we don’t want to find ourselves in a situation whereby we are playing with ourselves ):
So this title definitely aids many new players as well as current players who are not as geared to be motivated to push on but having it permanently might have it’s complications.
I hope this insight was a good read and as always…
God bless
Cheers,
AikawaKazu

Orc grim strike completion must be one of the most annoying requirements of the title LOL.
