100 Altea Gacha Box vs 100 Magnifying Glass ~! Results, Comparison & Verdict ~!

YAY TEGaming brings you another testing of notable cash items in attempt to answer the question below!

This time instead of just testing one item we bring the testing of 2 items to the table!

100 Altea Gacha Boxes vs 100 Magnifying Glass.

We will be comparing the loots gained from using these cash items, then suggesting a way/method/choice in which you might want to learn/use at the end of this article.

Without further a do, let’s take a look at the items gained from using 100 Altea Gacha Boxes

I managed to get Black Magnificient Wings >_<

Okay so I colour coded this list so that you can simply see what most players are interested in.

And I think I’m extremely lucky to get my Magnificent Black Wings from this stack of 100 Altea Gacha Boxes.

However, I also got 2 Brown Archangel wings (which can’t be traded/sold) but still happy to receive them nevertheless.

I managed to get the embarrassed decal as well xD!

So having 4 “What You Bought Gacha For” Items out of 100 Altea Gacha Boxes meant that your chance to get the other items such as Black/Yellow Cupid wings are around 4% or lower.

I believe the sheep/mounts  is usually at a much lower percentage (Lyzbeth loves the sheep and hopes to get one >_<)

so cute >_<

Anyway it seems all lovey-dovey at the moment because I’m lucky.

I know many players who have opened much more boxes than me that might not have gotten loots that I had in 100 boxes.

So the next question players will ask is if there’s any tricks etc before I open.

I was asking many players who opened spiral/vortex pouches (and have gotten good codes) in the past and their advice (whether true or not) was that you should always open some trash pouches in the game.

These pouches can be the ones that you get while fishing (Antique Common Pouch), or the ones you get when you hand-in your Commission Board quest.

Anyway better do something than nothing yeah? So I opened all the Antique Common Pouches I had (Around 94) before I opened my Gacha Boxes.

The idea behind it is you waste all the unlucky RNG away before you start opening the stuff with rewards.

Whether this is true or not I believe that its worth a try anyway, and yeap it still boils down to luck in the end!

It’s just a superstition in the end, whether you want to follow or not is up to you, but its NOT a must.

Let’s move on to the 100 Magnifying Glass Rewards~!

Didn’t get Gangnam Style

The first thing that I was disappointed with was that I didn’t get the Cowboy Dance Gesture D:!

I know what many other players mentioned, that it was given free in other services.

HOWEVER, it is untrue that our Big Brother China Dragon Nest (cDN) has given it off free as well.

In fact, they had it packaged it such a way that you needed to spent X amounts of “CC” in order to be eligible to receive it.

In other words, I believe it was the developers idea to monetize this gesture (I mean time has to be spent to create the models for all classes including their new class Kali) and know that Cherry Credits is still under Shanda Games International nevertheless.

However, using 100 Magnifying Glass and still not getting the gesture is just

I believe many players who have used magnifying glasses (perhaps even more than me) and still didn’t get the gesture will know how I feel.

However let’s look at the jewels/positive side of using Magnfying Glasses.

The first will be pretty obvious, look at how much gold I’ve received! (Including the gold earned if I sold the Permanent Tradeable Items that I’ve received)

I’ve received a total worth of 76100Gold!!!

This is excluding the other heraldry plates, codes etc that I could sell to bring this amount to an even higher amount.

But just how much worth is 76100 gold when converted in to CC?

Given that 100 Item Protection Jelly is worth 4500 Gold (Greenwood) and 6800 CC, 76100 Gold will be worth an estimated of 114995CC!

Now how much does 100 Magnifying Glass cost? (5 Glass for 5300CC) – 106000CC!!!

Let’ say  you can’t buy 106kCC exactly so it’s worth around 110kCC but as of now, it seems like buying Magnifying Glass is actually more worth it! (110kCC vs 114kCC)

Even if you get unlucky and not get 4 Permanent Brilliant Star Fragment Ring like I do (so let’s remove the gold earned from that), you would have gained 48100Gold worth around 72,000CC!

FYI the Brilliant Star Fragment Rings are worth more than 10k gold now in Greenwood Trading house, I sold mine for around 7k each when I got them so technically I actually have a much higher net worth for gold gained when using magnifying glass.

In my opinion this is simply an extremely good deal even if you’re a non-cash user.

Let’s look at the possible scenarios that might happen if you attempted to use 100 Magnifying Glass yourself either buying from trading house or with CC directly:

1. You are extremely unlucky (50 “Useless” Loots, 50 650gold ; Result: 32500G/50000CC) I really make it look extremely unlucky if you haven’t realized
2. You are not so lucky, no permanent robo/cupid wings, no cowboy gesture (My Result: 76100Gold/114995CC)
3. You are extremely lucky (Ok let’s not bother to calculate this one, but we know how much “win” it will be)

As you can see, you are likely to earn back at least 50% of the gold/CC that you would have spent when using the magnifying glass.

So after realizing this here’s something that I realized that I should have done instead which will actually save me loads of gold/CC in the long run.

However, this is assuming that you’re:

1. Using Altea Gacha Boxes/Magnifying Glass because you want to try get some permanent cash items (Wings, Fox Tails, Decals, Mounts)
2. You have a decent amount of in-game gold/CC that you don’t mind spending on the abovementioned items

Now here’s the idea:

Personally when I’m using these items, I’m hoping and aiming to get the “BIG WINGS”. Big wings are referring to the Black Magnificent Wings that I got from the Altea Gacha Box below.

Now whether I get the Robo Wings or the Black Magnificent Wings for me personally doesn’t matter.

Both looks awesome and I’m just hoping that I get lucky.

After doing the test it stumbled upon me that I could have actually used the gold I received from the Magnifying Glass to buy Altea Gacha Boxes and try my luck again.

In other words you seemingly have “2 tries” instead of one.

100 Altea Gacha Boxes costs 90,000CC

100 Magnifying Glass costs 106,000CC

HOWEVER, 100 Magnifying Glass can possibly yield you 76100Gold/114995CC.

Currently in Greenwood 10 Altea Gacha Boxes costs 6990Gold.

This means that with the gold earned from the Magnifying  Glass Rewards I can actually buy 10 stacks (10.8++ exact value) of Altea Gacha Boxes.

Do you see what I mean now?

If you only have the gold/CC to afford buying either Magnifying Glass or Altea Gacha Boxes, you should definitely buy Magnifying Glass instead!

It gives you the chance to have another try (2tries including using magnifying glass) for Big Wings (or even more if you’re lucky)!

If you’re not aiming for the Big Wings but wants some specific items like fox tails, you can simply buy it with the gold you get from Magnifying Glass Rewards instead of trying your luck.

In other words, using magnifying glass can actually help you buy some of the items from the Altea Gacha Boxes itself.

No cupid wings from Magnifying Glass?

No problem, the gold you earned can actually buy the black/yellow/pink ones from the trading house.

In other words, comparing Magnifying Glass to Altea Gacha Boxes currently, the only edge that Altea Gacha Boxes have is the latest mounts like the wolf/sheep.

But as mentioned above, you can buy magnifying glass, receive the rewards, then buy Altea Gacha Boxes to try your luck for the mounts or big wings again!

Don’t make the same mistake that I did and bought them 2 separately using CC to actually run this test!

I hope my “sacrifice” will not be for nothing >_<.

Last but not the least, when using Magnifying Glass, don’t blindly spam them in dungeons.

Use them purposefully, like in Nests (Normal/Hell Mode). Gold Chests in nest now have a chance to get plates/set pieces (The rate is alot higher compared to level 32/40 cap days)

Verdict: Magnifying Glass is definitely the way to go if you want to be cost effective but at the same time want to try your luck in getting some of the items provided in the Magnifying Glass Rewards or Altea Gacha Boxes
