< 1.1 Introduction >

Hello Guys. It’s me again back again to bring you guys a little guide for your level 60 Saint Skill Build. It’s quite simple and I can’t make the item build yet because I’m not sure what’s better etc and still need explore more about it. Hope can post the item build for you guys soon but before that I bring you guys Level 60 Saint Skill build.

< 1.2 Pure PVE Saint Skill Build >

So usually PVE-Saint uses this type of build. You can say it’s Ideal for Pure PVE Saint that do PVE more and less PVP.

Explanation:

Cleric Skill Tree

Max Charged Bolt – Charged Bolt have the highest damage in cleric skill tree when it’s on Max. For Charged Bolt, if can’t get level 19 better leave it at level 1 and use on other skill.

Block level 2 – Many will ask why block only level 2. The answer is you won’t take more than 3 skills at a time in PVE so you can save SP for other skill

Max Physical Mastery – Your heal (not healing relic) will counted from your hp so it’s better you get more hp to increase the amount of heal you can produce.

Max Heal – Saint is a ‘Healer’ class so of course we need to max this.

Priest Skill Tree

Max Heal Relic – Saint is a ‘Healer’ class and this will be needed for raids and nests

Lightning Relic level 6 – It’s a requirement to get Lightning Relic EX and why not level 12? The damage output not worth for your 6 SP. With that 6 SP you can get higher damage output using other skill

Max Chain Lightning – For PVE, Chain Lightning damage output is better than detonate. Very High damage output

Detonate Level 6 – For PVE, Detonate needed sometime like in GDN and it produce high amount of damage too so why not?

Max Holy Burst – Damage output not bad and its good for crowd control in PVE since Holy Burst have a large AOE.

Max Cure Relic-Max Cure Relic is to add your light attack more so the damage produce higher than cure level 1.

Saint Skill Tree

Max Holy Shield-This is the most important skills in PVE and super useful in Raids. So you know why we must max it xD

Level 1 Shock of Relic- The damage produce by Shock of Relic can be painful but in this build Charged Bolt damage can be plenty too. You guys can take alternatives such as level 1 charged bolt and max shock of relic.

< 1.3 1v1 PVP Saint Skill Build >

Explanation:

Cleric Skill Tree

Max Holy Bolt – Holy Bolt increased in duration and at its max level holy bolt can hold enemy long enough to have your combo to hit the enemy. Recommended for 1v1

Level 6 Heal Relic – We won’t have many time to use this. Level 6 is enough to heal us in PVP and a little bit more focus to damaging skills.

Lightning Relic level 6 – It’s a requirement to get Lightning Relic EX and why not level 12? The damage output not worth for your 6 SP. With that 6 SP you can get higher damage output using other skill

Chain Lightning level 1 – For PVP, Chain Lightning damage output is very low. We use chain in PVP for the electrocute effect so we can detonate it.

Max Detonate – For PVP, Detonate produce a lot of damage! Max the detonate will make you easily kill enemy.

Max Holy Burst – Damage output not bad and its good for crowd control in PVE since Holy Burst have a large AOE.

Level 12 Lightning Bolt- Lightning bolt have nice damage in pvp than chain lightning. Lightning bolt can be use as a dead blow or use for continuing your combo.

Take avenging wave so can back from flinch state fast.

Saint Skill Tree

Max Holy Shield-Can save you when you in danger if used in nice timing.

Level 1 Shock of Relic- In 1v1 PVP shock of relic is hard to hit enemy. not recommended to max it

< 1.4 Group PVP Saint Skill Build >

Explanation:

Cleric Skill Tree.

Level 6 Holy Bolt-Why not max this? because in group pvp usually we have a teammate that has binding skills such as Time Stop,Bind Relic from another Priest and holy bolt from another cleric as well. Since we are not alone it’s good to support with 1.5 secs duration.

Priest Skill Tree

Level 6 Heal Relic – We won’t have many time to use this. Level 6 is enough to heal us in PVP and a little bit more focus to damaging skills.

Max Bind Relic- This is very good in Group PvP since bind relic will longer duration will annoyed the enemy team in maps.

Take avenging wave so can back from flinch state fast.

Saint Skill Tree

Max Holy Shield-This is the most important skills in PVE and super useful in Raids. So you know why we must max it xD

Max Shock of Relic- as I said before it got nice damage and in group pvp relic is annoyed the enemy which means when they pass the relic u have many chance to use this skill.

< 1.5 Hybrid PVE/PVP Saint Skill Build >

Explanation:

Cleric Skill Tree

Holy Bolt level 6-useful in PVP and can be useful in PVE too to bind grouped monsters.

Block level 8 –Block level 8 can block many skills at a time.which in PVP when all people try to attack you, your block won’t broke easily.

Max Physical Mastery – Your heal (not healing relic) will counted from your hp so it’s better you get more hp to increase the amount of heal you can produce.

Max Heal – Saint is a ‘Healer’ class so of course we need to max this.

Priest Skill Tree

Max Heal Relic – Saint is a ‘Healer’ class and this will be useful for both PVP and PVE

Detonate Level 6 – For PVE, Detonate produce high damage at PVP

Max Holy Burst – Damage output not bad and its good for crowd control in PVE since Holy Burst have a large AOE.

Level 4 Protection shell-The increase in this buff not significant. add SP to another damaging skill better.

Take avenging wave so can back from flinch state fast.

Saint Skill Tree

Max Holy Shield-This is the most important skills in PVE and super useful in Raids. So you know why we must max it xD

Level 4 Shock of Relic- The damage produce by Shock of Relic can be painful both in PVE and PVP.For group PVP its annoying too because can easily cancel enemies’ skills.

< 1.5 My Saint Skill Build >

Explanation:

Cleric Skill Tree

Holy Bolt level 6-useful in PVP and can be useful in PVE too to bind grouped monsters.

Level 9 Chain Lightning – For PVE, Chain Lightning damage output is better than detonate. Very High damage output but I put it as level 9 to max cure relic that can add more light attack to my stats and very high percentage your damage will be better than max chain lightning with level 1 cure relic.

Detonate Level 6 – For PVE, Detonate produce high damage at PVP and PVE.

Max Holy Burst – Damage output not bad and its good for crowd control in PVE since Holy Burst have a large AOE.

Max Cure Relic-Max Cure Relic is to add your light attack more so the damage produce higher than cure level 1.

< 1.7 Closing >

*WARNING: Going to be a very long read if you want to bother, if not just skip and scroll down to the screenshots of the skill builds*

Alright time for another skill build guide!

This time for Level 60!

As always skill build guides are meant to be a reference to aid you in deciding what kind of builds you want to go for.

As usual, I’ll provide a Pure PVP & PVE skill build and then a Hybrid one.

First and foremost I just want to mention that PURE builds are only recommended for players who know what they are doing or are only concerned with either PVP or PVE only.

For most players, a hybrid one is recommended should one want to perform decently well in both ends of the house but of course never going to be as good as pure builds for that particular side of the house.

I guess we just have to wait patiently for the dual skill build system to come to Dragon Nest SEA so that we can have both a Pure PVP and PVE skill build when we want to

The guide will be in the following order:

Gladiator Pure PVE Skill Build 1,2 & 3

Gladiator Pure PVP Skill Build 1 & 2

Gladiator Hybrid PVP/PVE Skill Build (My Skill Build)

Moonlord Pure PVE Skill Build 1 & 2

Moonlord Pure PVP Skill Build

Moonlord Hybrid PVP/PVE Skill Build (My Skill Build)

How I’ll go about this is first explain how/why you might want to place SP into certain skills and what else you should do when you invest SP into those skills (getting skill accessories etc.)

With this in mind let’s get straight to it.

Bear in mind that the pure builds really target specific groups of players who want the best of a specific part of the game. Personally I enjoy both PVP/PVE aspect for Dragon Nest, so I’m opting for a hybrid build which I’ve made for both Gladiator and Moonlord. If you’re not into pure builds you can check out my hybrid builds first then take a look at the pure builds.

Gladiator

Let’s first talk about the Gladiator Side of the Tree which we have no doubt, whichever PVP or PVE that will be the same for all.

As simple as it may seem here are some suggestions and recommendations.

Evasion Slash and Finish Attack Skill Accessory is really really recommended for PVE.

Evasion Slash skill growth is extremely high and the cooldown for the skill is decreased for each level, hence a skill accessory for it is definitely a MUST if you are using.

I also recommend getting the 20% DMG Plate for Evasion Slash as well.

For Finish Attack, personally I prefer using the DMG plate, but according to some other guides, with the CD plate (16.8s Cooldown), you can do 2 Finish Attack while waiting for the next Brave to be up.

Brave has a cooldown of 35seconds so if you include the casting animation of Finish Attack, using it once with provoking slam and brave meant that you can cast 1 more Finish Attack before the next combination burst damage attack can be done, that being said, in the long run, you will do overall more damage compared to using the 20% DMG plate. This is however considering that you are always constantly able to attack the said monster, but more often than not in PVE nests/raids, you will always need to spend time dodging and avoiding attacks/mechanics, which meant that there will be moments where your skill is up but you can’t use it anyway.

Moreover for me, I believe that when I use my finish attack, I want it to hit as hard as possible (we all love high damage numbers to certain degree right?), and I usually use it when the effect of extra damage for finish attack comes in. With 20% DMG plate, it meant that your base damage of your finish attack is higher, and the extra damage which is based off the base damage of your finish attack will be higher as well.

For PVP, if you can get that 1 Finish attack to land, you will want it to hit as hard as possible. Since I rather give my FA the advantage in PVP, I prefer using the 20% DMG Plate for this reason as well.

Don’t forget about the skill ring for Finish Attack as well, but do note that it is only for PVE for increased effect of the extra damage per HP, but for PVP there is no change, just higher overall damage.

With that we go on to the basic tree which is the warrior tree.

Warrior Tree

There are 3 Generic Options that I want to talk about here.

As always, we want to hit only 45SP used as much as possible in this basic tree for the Swordmaster for both Gladiator and Moonlord.

Pure PVE Option 1

This is for those who want to get Circle Break to Level 16.

Note that your Mind Conquer and Mental Mastery is left at Level 0 for both.

You can level them if you have extra points from your Swordmaster Side of the tree, so do bear in mind that you can level them just showing that this i

Sweeping kick, drop kick are both left out of the equation since its Pure PVE.

Note that Relieve is Level 4 as it will have the lowest cooldown of 25 seconds, it still however only remove 2 debuffs.

Rising slash is not learnt as the casting animation and time is pretty long that leaves you very vulnerable in a PVE setting where you might be unable to cast your dodge skill in time while waiting for the casting animation to end.

As it is a Pure PVE Build, the uplift for rising slash is thus not needed.

Pure PVE Option 2

This is for those who want to get Circle Break to Level 11 only.

You will be able to max level your MP recovery which is your mind conquer which I personally feel might be useful when clearing long raids in the future like Desert Dragon Nest.

Similarly, Relieve is Level 4 as it will have the lowest cooldown of 25 seconds.

Similar reason as above for not learning rising slash

Sweeping kick and drop kick both not learnt.

Pure PVP

Rising Slash Level 6 is for the 2 rising motion, basically for utility.

You can learn Mental Mastery only up to Level 1 and learn level 1 Circle Break if you find yourself using it well in PVP, if not leave Circle Break at 0.

With T4 PVP HP, having Max Mental Mastery and Mind Conquer (MP Recovery) is definitely recommended especially if you take part in Ladder PVP very often.

Realize that Relieve is only Level 3. Why? Cooldown for Relieve does not change with levels, it has a flat cooldown duration of 45s in PVP.

However you need Level 3 so that you can clear up to 2 debuffs which is why Level 3 is enough for a Pure PVP Build.

Sweeping Kick and Dropkick both very useful so it is definitely a must learn for wall-combos as well as counters.

With that we proceed with the available options/discussion points for the Swordmaster Tree

Swordmaster Tree

I’ll first share about the Available Pure PVP Options

Note that this is built up from the abovementioned PVP option warrior skill tree.

Pure PVP Swordmaster Tree Options

Starting from the Left is Option 1, 2 then 3.

There will be an incoming video showcasing the various damage for Level 1,6,11 and 16 for the skills mentioned below that are of concerned to you, do wait for that to be released if you want to have more assurance if not take my word for it now xD

Pure PVP Option 1

The key difference here is that you are going for Level 16 Moonlight splitter and only Level 1 Line Drive

Players going for this build wants to rely on reliable DPS from MLS Level 16.

As you can see it is only level 15 here, because DNSEA don’t have 107SP for the SM Tree, we need to have a way around this and the solution is skill accessories.

You need to get skill accessories for Moonlight Splitter and Triple Slash here for them to both hit Level 16.

At level 16 with a Damage Plate, Triple Slash EX does around 2.7k + 2.7k + 3.4k (8.8k) Damage, so it is definitely worth getting it to Level 16 for PVP.

For Moonlight Splitter Level 16, with 20% DMG Skill Plate which you should be using, you are doing 2.1k-2.2k Per slash (6.5k+ DMG total), with a chance to land 3 slashes

With Brave at Level 6 with 30% DMG Increase, you’re looking at 2.8k+ DMG per slash, with up to 8.4k DMG in total which is huge for a skill with such a relatively short cooldown.

PVP Gladiators that I know like MizuEggu, Belfry, Patraic etc all have Max-ed MLS builds even at Level 50 cap, there’s no doubt this is something that they will go for at Level 60.

So why Level 1 Line Drive? When fighting against decent players, when Aerial Evasion is available you can reduce the number of hits taken by Line Drive to as low as 1 (depending on your reaction).

At level 10, Line Drive only does around 5.3k DMG per hit with 20% DMG plate, and if you only hit 1 hit, you’re wasting 9SP for a skill that hits for less than your MLS.

Nevertheless if you can hit your target near a wall to chain between 3-4 hits, you’re looking at 15 to 20 thousand damage done which is without brave and provoking slam by the way.

Players I know who use Line Drive very well is only Patraic who uses it extremely well as a finisher.

However, if you’re looking at Level 16 MLS build, then it is not possible (To get line drive Level 10)!

Last but not the least, note that Infinity Edge is only Level 1 since Level 2 only gives increased damage and its not easy to connect this skill fully in PVP anyway.

With that we look at Option 2 which is a compromise to make the line drive build possible.

Pure PVP Option 2

Basically with all the reasons mentioned above except that you are looking at going for Level 11 Moonlight Splitter

You still need a skill ring to get it up from 10 to 11 as shown above, similarly for Triple Slash.

You will also realize that Eclipse is Level 1 and MLS is only Level 11.

MLS at Level 11 Does around 1400 DMG per slash with 20% DMG plate, meaning around 4300DMG if all 3 slashes connect.

With the SP freed from those 2 skills, you can then get them at Line Drive.

As mentioned above, you need to know how to utilize line drive and get a skill accessory and 20% DMG plate for it to be worthwhile.

Pure PVP Option 3

This build basically gives you the option to have Cyclone Slash as a utility.

I will say that some players definitely like the cyclone slash playstyle as it can help you trap opponents after a wall bounce to buy time for cooldown for your own skills.

However in Level 60 cap with front shove EX and hacking stance EX, I find it mostly unnecessary unless you are not good at wall-combos in general.

This build also has level 10 line drive so if you intend to get it at level 1, you can actually go for parrying stance should want to go for a ladder inclined build for some defensive capability.

But honestly speaking, aside from defending yourself against skills like flame road when meeting ELs, or windwalkers rotating between spirit boost and showtime, parrying stance is mostly useless.

Not to mention that the duration for parrying stance is slated for a 30-50% Duration decrease in the latest balancing patches in kDN.

In general, you can see that front shove, hacking stance are both at level 11 for all the abovementioned builds.

Level 11 Hacking Stance EX does around 37*630 + 2.5k =23312DMG without 20% DMG Plate/Skill Accessory

Level 11 Front Shove EX does around 6280DMG without 20% DMG plate/Skill Accessory.

Both skills does insane damage if you can get to connect them and with T4 PVP HP which increased overall HP for all classes significantly, these 2 skills at Level 11 is definitely needed, no question about it.

Also why no parry build? At level 5 for Parry, you’re looking at 3.5% chance to parry, too low for investing 8SP into it, especially when parrying stance duration for PVP is slated to be reduced as mentioned above.

Hopefully the reasons provided above will give you a good idea on which option you want to choose for your PVP build.

Let’s move on to the available options for PVE.

Pure PVE Swordmaster Tree

As always Option 1 starting from the left, then Option 2 and 3.

Pure PVE Option 1

First things first, Triple Slash is Level 15, get skill accessory to get it to Level 16!

This is for freeing up SP so that you can learn both Counter Exile and Parry->Parrying Stance

This is basically a build very similar to the Freedom’s Ace of Spades Build but because CDN has extra 3SP for SM Tree unlike us, this is basically a modified version.

Dash Slash and Dash Combo are both Level 6, and Line Drive is Level 1.

The reason for line drive being level 1 is because it has been changed from a damage co-efficient of 4 to 1.

This meant that in the past for line drive, as long as you hit any one of the 4 hits, each hit will deal the full damage as mentioned on the skill description, but it has since be balanced to deal a quarter of its damage for every hit.

This meant that unless you’re able to connect all 4 hits of line drive everything, it is not worth getting the skill.

This option is having in mind that you are not good at getting all 4 hits of line drive to hit.

Situations where that is possible is usually when you back targets to a corner/wall or if you’re fighting a large monster like Green Dragon, Sea Dragon etc.

With the SP of line drive freed up from Level 10 to 1, you can thus add dash combo and dash slash to Level 6.

Notice that there’s Level 1 parry and parrying stance for additional survivability, and if you want to have a longer duration, you can un-learn counter exile if you’re going the purest of PVE Builds and add the 3SP to get parrying stance to level 4.

Parrying stance will probably be very useful in the Level 60 Nests and Raids but I’ve survived without parrying stance until Green Dragon Nest so this is really up to preference.

Gladiators have 3 i-frame skills, Evasion slash, front shove and Aerial Combo. If you know how to chain them together in a row, you can dodge some moderate long casting boss attacks like the Green Dragon Ice punch AOE skill in Phase 1.

This Brings us to Option 3 first

Pure PVE Option 3

Basically Line Drive is Level 10 for this one, this meant that you plan to utilize line drive burst’s damage alot, so make sure you get the 20% DMG Plate as well as the skill accessory to get it to 11 as the DMG increase is very very significant.

Eclipse is reduced from Level 6 to 1 here to free up SP to learn Parry and Parrying Stance.

Dash Combo and Slash is also left at Level 1 so you got still got enough SP to maximize the skills on the physical side of the tree.

This option provides for maximum survivability with Level 4 Parrying Stance for PVE.

Last but not the least we have Option 2.

Pure PVE Option 2

This build focus on maximizing and squeezing every possible % DMG increase from the physical side of the tree.

You can see that front shove is Level 14 and Hacking Stance is Level 12.

You definitely need to get the 20% DMG Plate for Front shove for this build.

So why get it to Level 14? Front Shove EX gives an overall 50% DMG Increase for front shove.

Any % increase in base DMG for front shove through an increased of level is thus multiplied by 50% with the EX version making a Level 14 Front shove worthwhile.

Do note that this build has no additional survivability skills so it is assumed that you are decent at dodging and utilizing your class’s iframe skills to dodge.

I personally have not tried DDN yet and don’t know if it is a must for learning parrying stance. It is definitely unlikely as not all classes in DN have a defensive skill that warrants them invulnerable to attacks for a long period of time, so my guess is having parrying stance will be convenient in dodging boss mechanics but definitely not a must have.

With all that being said and done, let’s finally move on to the builds themselves:

Level 60 Gladiator Pure PVE Build 1 - Raw DMG

And last but not the least, a Hybrid Build which I’ll use myself.

Personally I’ll use the options for the Pure Builds If we given the Dual Skill Build system, but unfortunately, we need to wait for that to be implemented in the future.

Level 60 Gladiator Hybrid PVP/PVE Build (SecretSwrd)

I’ll just mention what brought me to make this build for my own playstyle.

Mental Mastery and Mind Conquer is Maxed because we know that T4 PVP HP and the current MP we have now, having both of them max-ed definitely helps.

I have Level 1 Circle Break and Level 6 Rising Slash for Utility in PVP.

Sweeping Kick and Drop Kick are PVP necessities for me so I’ve learnt them as well.

Relieve is at Level 3 because for PVP the cooldown stays constant at 45s and you need Level 3 to remove 2 debuffs.

Level 14 Front Shove EX because that extra 3 levels provides an edge in PVP if I can land it, I’m using front shove 20% DMG plate as well so I just want to maximize the damage for this skill in PVE hence the max-ed Level.

I’ve decided to get Line Drive at Level 1 because of the change in co-efficient of the skill from 4 to 1. It also opens up 9SP for you to place into other skills which makes the build alot more flexible.

I’ve decided to keep Eclipse Level 6 as it does decent damage in PVP and the cooldown is pretty short as well given what it can do where you will use it to disrupt casting of skills for many classes but at the same time with Level 6 you will be dealing decent damage when doing so.

Brave and Provoking is Max-ed for both PVP and PVE uses, getting a skill ring for Provoking Slam as well to get it to Level 8 (+50% DMG Taken).

Last but not the least, Level 11 Moonlight Splitter as I’ve come to be able to combo with it with dash combo in PVP, so having it at 11 meant that I’ll be able to deal some damage when chaining it.

No more cyclone slash as I find myself not relying on it anymore once I’ve gotten better at chaining skills together.

All in all, a hybrid build that can justify your role in PVE (Max-ed Provoking Slam + Brave) as well as being able to perform decently in PVP.

Remember not to follow blindly though and make a skill build that is mostly suited to your own playstyle!

—————————————————————————————————————-

Alright time for the Moonlord Skill Build Insights!

Moonlord

So is there anything important here for the Moonlord side of the house?

Moonblade Dance is still the moonlord’s staple DPS skill even after the re-balancing where we only hit 10 hits for small-medium monsters.

I still recommend getting the skill accessory for it simply because there isn’t another better option.

This also meant that since MBD is at Level 6, getting it to Level 7 with a skill accessory is no longer mandatory.

If you’re choosing to build an item build without skill accessory, then you should go ahead to do so.

The rest is very standard with everything max-ed in this side of the tree.

For the Warrior Side of the house, it is no different for the moonlord compared to the gladiator.

Some might consider getting impact wave, but I’ll still recommend Circle Break for PVE simply due to a shorter Cooldown and faster casting animation.

Impact wave has 13seconds cooldown to circle break’s 11 seconds.

When comparing Level 11 Circle Break to Level 11 Impact wave, circle break’s damage growth is actually better (378% MATK vs 383% PATK)

However should you still prefer to get impact wave, then get it all the way to Level 16 instead of just stopping at 11 for Pure PVE Builds.

With that in mind, let’s move on to the Swordmaster side of the tree for Moonlords.

Swordmaster Tree for Moonlords

Regardless of Pure PVE/PVP or Hybrid, I’ll strongly recommend getting at least level 1 triple slash and level 1 front shove for utility.

More so for front shove due to the iframe which can be very useful for dodging even when going up against PVE boss mechanism.

Note that there’s no question about Level 10 Half-moon Slash, since the changes to Moonlords, this skill damage in PVP & PVE is just awesome.

Make sure you get a skill accessory to bring HMS to Level 11, this is a MUST because Level 11 HMS compared to 10 is 104% DMG Increase

With regards to Cyclone Slash EX, it is either you get it at Level 1 or 11, don’t get it at Level 6.

Refer to this thread here: http://bbs.duowan.com/thread-28946167-1-1.html

If can’t read chinese, what the thread is trying to say is that Cyclone Slash EX Level 1 and 6 has no difference in Size, but Level 11 is indeed larger.

The DMG Growth for Level 1 to 6 is not significant compared to the DMG Growth from 6 to 11.

In other words, if you don’t want to get Cyclone Slash EXto Level 11, leave it at Level 1.

Other important things to note is that Cyclone Slash EX lasts for 5.5seconds (Increase of 1s from non-EX Version), and has 16 hits (15 Damage over time, and 1 Initial Hit Damage).

For Crescent Cleave EX, similar to Cyclone Slash Ex, There’s no point in having crescent cleave at level 6. It is either Level 1 or Level 11.

With this in mind check out some of the possible Swordmaster Tree builds for moonlord below.

We will start with PVE.

Pure PVE Swordmaster Tree for Moonlords

Pure PVE Option 1

As you can see both Cyclone Slash EX and Crescent Cleave EX is at Level 11.

This is leaning towards more of a pure magic build Moonlord.

If you want some survivability, you can reduce Eclipse to Level 1 , MLS to Level 15 and get a skill accessory and learn Level 1 Parry and Parrying stance.

Pure PVE Option 2

Even without the EX version, hacking stance at level 11 still does alot of damage for PVE even for a moonlord.

With high enhanced weapons, Moonlords usually have a sizeable amount of PATK as well which can prove to be useful

Reason for taking Crescent Cleave EX to level 11 instead of Cyclone Slash EX is because when it comes to raids with large monsters, Crescent Cleave EX Damage potential definitely outweighs Cyclone Slash EX.

We will continue for the Pure PVP Build for Moonlord next which are possible in the Swordmaster Tree.

Pure PVP Swordmaster Tree Options for Moonlord

Pure PVP Option 1

Even without the EX version of hacking stance, Level 11 Hacking Stance can deal 42*500 = 21000 DMG

Note that MLS is Level 15 here, so this is assuming you have the skill accessory for it.

Great Wave is also level 1 and not 2 since in PVP difference between Level 1 and 2 is just 40% MATK.

Similarly to the PVE options above, if you want further survivability you can decrease eclipse to Level 1 instead of 6 and add the SP into Parrying Stance.

Line Drive is Level 1 here for utility such as chasing opponents or baiting dodge/tumble to lift them.

Pure PVP Option 2

Difference between option 1 and 2 is the decreased level of Hacking Stance to 6 instead of 11

But you get to enjoy a larger cyclone slash EX which is at level 11.

Line Drive at level 1 once again for utility and similarly, you can bring down eclipse to level 1 if you want further survivability from the parry side of the tree.

This is basically a variation of the above build.

———————————————————–

With all the abovementioned said and done let’s go straight to the builds.

Alright we will go into the final Skill build for today which will be my own Hybrid PVP/PVE Moonlord Skill Build

Level 60 Moonlord Hybrid PVP/PVE Skill Build (AikawaKazu)

To put it simply, I plugged in the PVP side of the house for the warrior side of the tree for Level 6 Rising Slash.

You can bring Mental Mastery to Level 2 to free up 3 SP to learn Circle Break if you find the utility of that skill important to you for PVP.

For the swordmaster side of the tree I went for a Pure Magic Build utilizing both Level 11 Cyclone Slash EX and Crescent Cleave EX.

With the heraldry slot extender, I might be trying out for 20% DMG Increase for both of these 2 skills since the EX versions have increased their attack power by 30%.

Remember to get the skill accessory for Half-moon Slash to get it to Level 11 for that 104% DMG Increase

The rest is very standard and reasons have been mentioned above.

Before I go, here are some resources I’ve read which I’ve found very helpful which you should definitely go take a look at as they have been instrumental in the making of this guide.

Ace’s Light Sabre Gladiator Builds (PVE) by Freedom on DN.mmosite

Comparison between Level 1,6 & 11 for Cyclone Slash EX (In chinese) (I’ve translated most of it above)

I’ll also prepare video comparing the PVP DMG for both gladiator and moonlord skills which are important at Level 1,6, 11 and applicable (Do wait for it, footage is recorded but I wanted to get the written skill build guide up first).

The tips and tricks to be learnt here is to utilizing skill accessories into the making of your skill build such that you can use the +1 to hit the level 11 or 16 of the respective skills to bring out the best DMG possible from them while saving that 1SP that you can put somewhere else.

Foreword from AikawaKazu: Personally I don’t agree with some of the skill build choices like the PVP one as level 1 holy bolt might not be sufficient if you intend to go for any sort of combo-linkage with binding relic + Holy bolt + holy burst type of DPS Combos as shown. After reading the skill build for PVP, I think it leans towards a PVP Skill build that works for both 1v1 and Group PVP which meant that it is a combination. As always skill build guides serve as a reference and insight for players who are deciding on their own. Read Mystearion’s guide carefully and ultimately make your own choice!

< 1.1 Introduction >

Before we start, I am Mystearion. A normal Saint (Not the Best Saint) from Greenwood. I am both PVE and PVP Player. My character also joined the 8 man Green Dragon Nest party with SecretSwrd . Here is the video if you guys don’t know about it yet.

For Skill build, it may differ from player to player because every player has different playstyle but once again its only a guide that guide you to make your skill build.

< 1.2 Pure PVE Saint Skill Build >

So usually PVE-Saint uses this type of build. You can say it’s Ideal for Pure PVE Saint.

Explanation:

Cleric Skill Tree

Max Charged Bolt – Charged Bolt have the highest damage in cleric skill tree when it’s on Max. For Charged Bolt, if can’t get level 16 better leave it at level 1 and use on other skill.

Block level 2 – Many will ask why block only level 2. The answer is you won’t take more than 3 skills at a time in PVE so you can save SP for other skill

Max Physical Mastery – Your heal (not healing relic) will counted from your hp so its better you get more hp to increase the amount of heal you can produce.

Alternatives:

There is an alternative for this. If you don’t want level 6 Detonate you can put the SP in Bind Relic and Cure relic so both relic can maxed.

——————————————————————————————

< 1.3 Pure PVP Saint Skill Build >

This is what a common PVP Saint skill build should look like:

Explanation:

Cleric Skill tree

Max Block – We need our block to be max in PVP. The reason is there are many multiple hits attack from other class (Example: Electric Smite from Paladin) if our block only level 2,we won’t block the attack instead getting hit.

Holy Bolt level 1 – Holy bolt only needed to bind the enemy not the damage.

Max Heal – Very useful in PVP. Can heal teammates or self with quite high amount

Charged Bolt level 1 – In PVP, Charged bolt is hard to hit the enemy. That’s why no need to max it.

Priest Skill Tree

Max Lightning Bolt – This will make a little confuse. Many people ask “Why Go to Saint if we max the lightning bolt?” .The Answer is placed on Holy Shield. Holy Shield really annoying for team PVP if the timing is right while Inquisitor don’t have that. Max lightning bolt is for the greater damage output that can produce in PVP.

Lightning Relic level 6 – It’s for taking the Lightning relic ex that pretty annoying in Team PVP

Chain Lightning level 1 – We put chain lightning level 1 because chain lightning didn’t produce outstanding damage like in PVE.

Max Detonate – In PVP detonate have outstanding damage output than Chain lightning.

Max Bind Relic – For longer duration of Bind Relic.

Take Avenging Wave so can counter when u get into enemy’s combo

Take Heavenly Judgement since its useful to shock enemy and cancel their skill. More efficient than Miracle Relic at PVP

—————————————————————————

< 1.4 Hybrid PVE/PVP Saint Skill Build >

Explanation

Cleric Skill Tree

Max Charged Bolt – Charged Bolt have the highest damage in cleric skill tree when it’s on Max. For Charged Bolt, if can’t get level 16 better leave it at level 1 and use on other skill.

Holy Bolt level 1 – Holy bolt only needed to bind the enemy not the damage.

Max Heal – Saint is a ‘Healer’ class so of course we need to max this.

Level 1 Mental Mastery & Level 2 Mental Training – Max mp we got from int already so doesn’t need high level mental mastery and for mental training at level 2 so make sure your mp didn’t drained

Max Holy Burst – Damage output not bad and its good for crowd control in PVE since Holy Burst have a large AOE.

Take Avenging Wave for PVP and sometimes useful for PVE

————————————————————————–

< 1.5 My Saint Skill Build >

I already show you guys all the possibilities with knowledge I know. Now it’s my skill build I want to share with you guys. Basically, it’s the same with Hybrid PVP/PVE but I decrease the mental training to level 1 since I have mp recovery pot. I add it to Block so I can block more attack at 1 time in PVP.

————————————————————————————–

< 2.1 Introduction >

So ya let’s move on to Saint Item build. Item Build is Very Different from PVE and PVP build. It’s up to you guys which one you guys focus more. Before enter the Item guide, I want to tell I’m not the best at item building since I don’t have much gold.

My stats in town so maybe you guys can make it as reference but I tell you guys I’m not the best Saint in DNSEA so this is the stats.

< 2.2 PVE Saint Item Build>

The Ideal of a Saint in PVE is having high matk. Focus on it and you are qualified as a healer.

The Cheapest level 50 by counting its Set Bonus is 5 Ancient Totem and 2 Immortal

I recommend this kind of set

+8 Immortal Galero (Intellect II) with Int Vit Max Hp pot

+9 Ancient Totem Armor (Intellect II) with Int Vit Max Hp pot

+8 Ancient Totem Trousers (Intellect II) with Int Vit Max Hp pot

+6 Ancient Totem Cuffs (Will II) With Int Vit Max Hp pot

+6 Immortal Shoes (Intellect II) With Int Vit Max Hp pot

+8 Ancient Totem Wand (Magic Power II) With Matk Agi Int/Matk str int pot

+8 Ancient Totem Shield (Magic Power II) with Matk Agi Int/Matk str int pot

Why I put immortal one on galero and shoes? The reason is in case you will change your set to Hero set it recommended you change weapons(Main and Secondary) ,Armor and Trousers and cuff change to immortal since no set bonus if only have 1 part but can get 300FD when have 3 parts of Immortal and the price of the cuff is pretty cheap.

For Accessories you can use Skill ring (Striking), Magician Rose Red Ring, Skill Earrings (Heal Relic/Heal), Wise Rose Red Necklace.

But for that you need to find a good stats on both skill ring which mean will cost a lot of golds.

For me, 2 Magician Rose Red Rings with Matk pot , Wise Rose Red Necklace with Vit Max Hp pot and Wise Rose Red Earrings with Vit Max Hp pot.

< 2.3 PVP Saint Item Build>

PVP Players usually focusing the build for damage so can get kill as much as he can. This is the build I made and I haven’t tested it yet on Saint since it’s my PVP Inquisitor Build.

Basically for Equipment, The Most Simple equipment for PVP is 5 immortals on armor + 2 Victor Weapons.

+8 Immortal Galero (Wind II) with Agi Int Max hp pot

+9 Immortal Armor (Wind II) with Int Vit Max hp pot

+8 Immortal Trousers (Intellect II) with Agi vit max hp pot

+8 Immortal Cuffs (Will II) with Agi int Max hp pot

+8 Immortal Shoes (Intellect II) with Agi Int Max hp pot

+9 Victor Wand (Intellect II) with Agi Int Light pot

+9 Victor Shield (Magic Power II) with Agi int Light pot

Why use intellect on weapon? Because intellect on weapon have chance to debuff enemy’s elemental defense which mean on Saint its Light Attack element can damage the enemy even bigger.

For Accessories, it’s up to you guys. You can use 2 Magician Rose Red Rings with Agi Int Light pot, Wise Rose Red Necklace with Vit Max Hp pot and Wise Rose Red Earrings with Vit Max Hp pot. You can also use all 4 skills accessories but of course it will cost a ton of gold and need time to pot it since it rarely sold in Trading House.

< 2.4 Closing>

So that’s it guys. I hope this guide can help you make your Saint. If you have any question regarding this Guide can kindly email me at darrian_jovan@yahoo.co.id or pm me in-game Mystearion.

Alright I know many have been waiting for those, sorry for the delay.

Know that this will be a wall of text due to the detailed explanation by Kenshi92 for each variation of skill build he has provided.

I urge you to read through all 4 variations and their explanation before deciding on which build you are going for.

You MUST read variation 1 as it explains most of the reasons for the choice of SP allocated for the specific skills.

Just in case anyone doubts Kenshi92′s and his guide, here’s his win/loss & kill-death ratio for his Dark Summoner so far since release.

According to him, out of his 26 losses…

12 Came from when he tried PVP-ing at Level 37.

The other 14 losses were when he was level 50. 2 from Falala, 1 from MizuEggu, one from random Tempest and 4 from Orlezea.

The rest were from attempts at Kill or Fall Mode.

Basically he has a loss ratio of around 8.5% which basically shows that he knows Dark Summoner PVP to a well enough extent.

With that being said let’s dive straight to Variation 1 (1v1 Softban/Selfban Skill Build)

Kenshi92 is using this variation.

Explanation

Kali Tree

To start off with the first variation of skill build you can see that I have level 6 despair needle and level 6 spirit blow.

Why level 6 despair needle and level 6 spirit blow?

With T4 implementation, every skill with level 6,11,16 will have a huge boost in damage % and also additional damage.

Despair needle will be used very often for Screamer in PVP. This skill act as semi poison pool and it will pin knocked down enemy up to 4-5 hits before they be able to stand up.

Despair needle is a good skill to link your combo when other skill like Chain Claw, Phantom Claw EX, Revenge Hand is on cool down.

Why level 6? Since you will be using it very often, having it at level 6 is only logical due to the abovementioned reasons affiliated to T4 Skill build system.

Spirit Blow is a must have skill

Spirit Blow has high super armor breakage which can break Mercenary’s Flying Swing and it also acts as a combo linkage when you are doing combo.

Having Level 6 Spirit Blow meant that you can deal much more damage so that it all adds up to finish off your opponent faster.

“Why no Negative ghost? Negative ghost has a decent super armor breakage too!

Why don’t you add it?”

Even though Negative Ghost has decent super armor breakage with knock back effects, for a Screamer class, you don’t need to knock back an opponent and waste another lifting skill just to waste your opponent aerial evasion. Instead you can just lift with Chain Claw or Phantom Claw Ex.

That’s the reason why I didn’t put any point on this skill.

The most important point is as a Screamer class you mostly won’t be having chance to use this skill at point blank range.

Maxing Mana Mastery and Mana Recovery is a must for Screamer class. Screamer drain a lot of MP compare to other class. The amount of MP drain is on par with a Paladin which activate Conviction Aura for the entire match. It is wise to get these 2 skills to max.

Screamer / Dark Summoner Tree

For the Screamer tree in this variation which is the same as my skill build, I had only put the points on left tree which is Dark Summoner main tree and only Spirit Paper level 11 on Soul Eater tree.

(Test Subject Gladiator = MizuEggu)

Level 12 Phantom Claw EX, first claw dealing 1k second claw dealing another 1k, third claw 1.6k, forth claw 1.6k. A Total of 5.2k hp in 15sec, and these damage taken is without Phantom Claw 20% Damage Plate.

Curious about the damage when having 20% damage plate equipped?

The damage for first to fourth claw are 1.2k, 1.2k, 2k, 2k respectively.

Phantom Claw EX has a slight SA which can tank the first hit of Freezing Sword EX, first bang of Kick Shot EX, Mercenary’s Taunting Howl.

Phantom Claw EX is good to use when you encounter these classes.

Level 12 Chain Claw, the damage deal on Gladiators are 3k without 20% Damage Increase plate.

With 20% Damage Increase plate, it deal extra 500-600 more damage which is around 3.5k-3.6k.

I personally doesn’t suggest players to equip this plate since there’s not much different when with plate and without plate.

Chain claw main purpose is to lift your opponent up to waste their aerial evasion, is not recommended to use in combo unless all of your skill are on cool down except for this skill.

The most important part is to get this skill to touch at least level 11, the cool down for this skill on level 1 is 15seconds and the cool down is 12seconds when it reach level 11.

The unique point of this skill is having the same animation speed as Impact Punch from the Warrior Class with bigger AOE and higher Super Armor Breakage, this skill can break Punishing Swing from Mercenary, Triple Slash/Front Shove from Sword Master.

Revenge Hand is optional for most of the people out there, you can either leave it at level 6 or max it.

Why do I choose to max it?

It’s because of the damage dealt.

Level 9 Revenge Hand is dealing 600 for the first hit, 1.2k for the 2nd hit and lastly is 4.5k.

With just 22seconds of cool down the skill can deal around 6.5k damage.

Not to mention when this skill reached level 6 it has reduced cool down from 24seconds to 22seconds.

The unique point of Revenge Hand is the Super Armor it has.

Revenge Hand has almost the same SA with Mercenary’s Circle Swing it is useful to tank Taunting Howl from Mercenary, Divine Breaker from Paladins.

Rampage Claw is the same as other classes level 32 skills.

If you are going for Dark Summoner, this skill is a must max skill same as Tempest having max level of Spiral Vortex.

Unlike Revenge Hand and Chain Claw, this skill doesn’t have any cool down reduction when it touched level 6.

Rampage Claw have 3 hits in total, the first hit will deal around 1.9k damage, second hit around 1.9k damage and the last hit will wreck up to 5.7k damage.

This skill is your main DPS skill if you want to play in Lost Temple when your opponent want to hardcore softban level 50 skills.

In Dark Summoner tree, this skill has the most unique feature compare to others.

This skill has the ability to stun your opponent like Acrobat Blooming Kick with a lower percentage of chance but faster animation speed.

The stun mainly occurs in the second hit or the last hit. The most important part of this skill is that it include 2 skills AOE which is Line Drive frontal AOE and Circle Swing width AOE.

This skill are mostly used in combo to achieve the Max DPS deal on your opponent. You can use this skill as a counter when other skill are on cool downs and opponent decided to rush on you, the SA breakage of this skill is quite decent. Two sweeps of the claw can cancel Sword Master’s Triple Slash.

Blitz Claw is the only I-Frame that Dark Summoner has, as a PvP player we know that I-Frame skills are important when your opponent had baited your tumble, so this skill is a must get skill.

The highest level that Blitz Claw can reached is level 10 in level 50 cap.

With the help of skill ring this skill can touch level 11 which provide you extra boost of damage in this skill and also reduce the cool down from 19seconds to 16 seconds.

Many of you will be thinking that 10 skills point spent on reducing 3 seconds of cool down just for an I-Frame skill is not worthwhile but…

The truth fact is when this skill is level 1, the first two claw deal around 950 damage each while you max it this skill has a big boost in damage and having around 4.2-4.3k damage each for the first two claw, this skill is the second dps skill for Dark Summoner.

Spirit Spread/Spirit Twinkle this skill is left on level 1, this skill has the ability to flinch/knock back your opponent.

This skill can be use to bait opponent tumble and following up by Chain Claw to lift up your opponent.

The second usage of this skill is to helping you gain more mobility.

After you used Spirit Spread/Twinkle, you can actively activate your puppet soul to gain more further distance to get near your opponent.

This skill only require 1 SP to get, there’s no other skill in second job allow you to use 1 SP to gain.

Ghost Scream, this is one of the skill that Screamer has to slow an opponent.

Having it on level 1 is sufficient since the delayed status is capped on 30%.

Ghost Scream can deal up to 8 hit which make this skill quite painful even though it left on level1.

Why do I get to level 6?

This is because when level 1, the damage deal on opponent is 230-240 per hit. When this skill touched level 6, the cool down of this skill will also decrease from 16seconds to 14seconds and the duration of the delayed status increase by 0.75seconds.

The most important part is when Ghost Scream is on level 6, it deal around 500-550 damage per hit so if you hit your target in combo with a point blank range it will deal total of 4.5k-5k damage which is decent while level 1 will only deal 2k-2.1k damage.

Spirit Paper is the only right tree skill that I picked to put until level 11 and the amount of hit for this skill is 4 if you are Dark Summoner.

The reason for doing this is because Spirit Paper on level 11 can deal around 950 damage per hit with 20% Damage Increased plate, without plate is 750 damage per hit.

I wouldn’t suggest to equip this plate since the total damage that it added is only 800.

Why getting it max? Main reason is the curse debuff of this skill.

The curse debuff causes the opponent to lose HP whenever it does an form of action except for walking around. (Normal attack, Dashing, skill casting all counts as action) This curse debuff activation has a cooldown of 2 seconds.

When Spirit Paper at level 1, it only has 5seconds of debuff, the max that the curse can do is only 2 times which only dealing 1.4k per curse in T3 HP, 2.9k per curse in T4 HP.

Adding it to level 6 increase the duration by 1 seconds which mean 6 seconds, so that the maximum amount of curse that it can do now is 3 times which is 4.2k damage in total in T3 HPand 8.7k in T4 HP.

Level 11 Spirit Paper has 7 seconds curse, which most of you will questioned why bother to increase it to level 11 since the debuff duration is increase by only 1second more and the curse won’t do the 4th time.

To answer your question, Dark Summoner is a class that based on fast cool down.

If your opponent had 7 second curse debuff and choose to not to attack you (because if he does he will take damage for every 2 seconds if he tries), this means that you can buy yourself an extra 7 seconds for skills to be off cooldown.

This is very helpful when your aerial evasion is on cool down, having Low HP and facing a clutch moment with the opponent you are facing, in other words, the longer the curse the higher the chance you can turn the tide of the battle.

Grudge Formation will be left on level 1 since my build is consider a highly softban build.

Grudge Formation is used to counter Mercenary’s Iron Skin, Acrobat Spirit Boost.

Grudge Formation seems to be work like Elemental Lord Fire/Ice Shield but it is not, I would like to say it works like brave SA breakage debuff on your opponent.

You cannot stand still and let your opponent to whack you inside Grudge Formation, this is basically wasting your Grudge Formation buff.

In order to utilize Grudge Formation, when opponent come into it, your opponent SA breakage had decreased, you need to use some of your SA skills to utilize Grudge Formation, with the debuff on your opponent they will have harder time to break your skills.

Next we will talk about Sadism Pleasure which is only available for the Dark Summoner.

This skill is left on level 1, do not add further more than level 1, it is useless!

Even in T4 HP, with this buff on and you are combo-ing your opponent, this buff only helps you to heal up for around 1k hp which I find it quite useless.

I rather put this 1 skill point on other skill to wreck up a little bit more damage.

Chaos Formation.

Compare to other Kali sub classes, Chaos Formation has the lowest damage output for their level 50 skills even though it hit for 11 hits.

With 20% Damage Increased plate, every hit of this skill producing 1.2k damage which mean in total of 13.2-13.5k damage under no Critical Hits condition.

Compare to Soul Eater, Spirit Dancer, Blade Dancer, their level 50 will at least wreck up a minimum of 15k HP if they successfully landed.

The damage output might be the disadvantage of this skill but there’s also advantage side of it.

First is the Aoe of this skill, it has an AOE of circle swing and the SA breakage is decent, once you got hit by it even if opponents are standing, they will still get hit at least 4-5 times.

This skill had a lift up when it come to the last hit.

The most unique part of this skill is when opponent got caught in the middle of this skill and they plan to use aerial evasion to evade out, Chaos Formation can ignore the I-Frame of aerial evasion and continue damaging your opponent.

Many of you will think that it act as Hurricane Dance from Tempest, but it does not. Even when you hit them after they aerial evade, opponent would not on floating condition but is on standing position.

If your opponent know how to dodge the last hit of Chaos Formation, basically it will not lift up your opponent again.

For this build, the skill heraldry plates that I would like to recommend will be
1. Phantom Claw 20% Damage Increased.
2. Rampage Claw 20% Damage Increased.
3. Blitz Claw Cool Down decrease by 12% from 16seconds -> 14 seconds
4. Revenge Hand Cool Down decrease by 12% 12% from 22seconds -> 19.4seconds

———————————————————————————

Variation 2

Explanation

In variation 2, the only thing changed is on Kali tree. Spirit blow is added to level 13 while Despair Needle and Phantom Guard is left on level 1.

This build is to maximize the damage output in PvP since despair needle is used more for utility rather than damage.

Level 6 Despair Needle and Level 6 Spirit Blow deal lesser damage compare to Level 13 Spirit Blow itself.

Phantom Guard, this skills only give you a slight boost on your SA which is only additional of 200 which is not quite noticeable. Leaving at level 1 is recommended, but you can choose to max it if you want to.

In variation 1, you can see I added it to level 3 because of the extra 2 SP which I have no idea where to put.

For this build, the skill heraldry plates that I would like to recommend will be
1. Phantom Claw 20% Damage Increased.
2. Rampage Claw 20% Damage Increased.
3. Blitz Claw Cool Down decrease by 12% from 16seconds -> 14 seconds
4. Spirit Blow 20% Damage increased.

———————————————————————

Variation 3

In variation 3, skills are modified (from the 2nd variation) on the screamer side of the skill tree.

Phantom Claw will be reduced to level 6 (Minimum requirement for EX)

Chain Claw will be reduced to level 11 (For cooldown reduction at level 11)

Revenge Hand will be leave at level 6 for the cool down purposes and the boost damage of the skill on level 6.

Ghost Scream will be lower down back to level 1 since on this variation, the main purpose of making this variation is to make Dark Summoner act as a Soul Eater but with Phantom Claw EX.

Stigma Of Curse at level1, the damage output is quite decent. It will deal around 3.5k-4k damage when you successfully land it on your opponents.

With level 6, Stigma Of Curse can launch 2 hits on your opponent.

The first hit will be around 4.8k-5k damage and the second hit will deal around 1k damage since it’s only 20% damage amount of the first hit.

Note that both hits of stigma of curse can cause your opponents to stagger/flinch, so having 2 hits allows you to bait his dodge/tumble on the first tailsman summon, and then proceed to use the 2nd tailsman to catch him.

The debuff will last for 10seconds for level 6 while is only 8seconds for level 1.

Getting Stigma Of Curse will give benefit to Spirit Paper, when opponent have the curse debuff on it, Spirit Paper will deal 3-4 more hits extra which is alike Soul Eater Spirit Paper EX.

By adding Stigma of Curse, it will make Spirit Paper act as Spirit Paper EX for Dark Summoner.

Summon Puppet. This skill is used together with Stigma Of Curse. After Stigma of Curse successfully landed on your opponent, use this skill to make a puppet out of your opponent. I suggest to max-ing this skill since this skill on level 4, the puppet will last for 9seconds.

During these 9 seconds when you are damaging the puppet, opponent will receive extra 9% of damage which is quite decent.

You can only summon puppet when your branded target is within 10m of you.

Summon your puppet when opponent is in between 7m to 10m , this is the safest way to activate your puppet.

Summon Puppet is a skill that will need you to stay still for a period of time until the puppet is summoned. If you accidentally cast Spinning Step before the puppet even came out the skill is declare useless.

So try to summon puppet after successfully branding your target with stigma of curse in a combo chain thus giving you time to summon the puppet.

For those players which have high prediction and nice aiming, these 2 skill will act as a bonus to do extra damage on your opponent.

For this build, the skill heraldry plates that I would like to recommend will be:
1. Spirit Paper 20% Damage Increased
2. Rampage Claw 20% Damage Increased.
3. Blitz Claw Cool Down decrease by 12% from 16seconds -> 14 seconds
4. Spirit Blow 20% Damage increased.

——————————————————

Variation 4 (with Cling Snake, Soul Gate & Beast Spirit)

In variation 4 skill build, this build is to utilize every skill in Screamer class, it is not recommended for starter since there’s so many skill that needed to place in your hotkey. If you want to try this build is ok to do so and using this skill build require you to know how Cling Snake, Soul Gate, Beast Spirit works.

Cling Snake, this skill when casted the projection of this skill same as Ankle Shot projectile from Bow Master. Ankle Shot will bind your opponent on certain position while Cling Snake will only slow down the movement of your opponent. The delayed duration for this skill last for 2.5 seconds on level 1 and the delayed status is cap on 30%. Leaving this skill on level 1 is sufficient, because when this skill touched level 6 the duration is just increase by 0.5seconds which I find it pointless to get extra 0.5seconds from 5 SP. For those who want to add this skill, this skill doesn’t knockback, knock up or paralze your opponent. I will suggest only using this skill when you are doing combo with point blank range so that 3 hit of this skill can do the maximum damage.

Soul Gate, this skill is useful since once the gate appear the spirit will activate every 2seconds which can do 3 hits on your opponent.

Every 2 second the gate will track where the location of your opponent and fire out the 3 spirits (4 if you managed to brand him). It can act as a defensive skill to protect you from your enemy especially when you ran up of Aerial Evasion or Puppet Soul.

Level 1 of this skill is sufficient since there’s no cool down reduction on this skill at level 6. The spirit that came out from Soul Gate inflict Curse debuff on your opponent with the same cool down as Spirit Paper which is 2seconds but once the target got cursed by the first wave of those spirit, it require 5 seconds to activate another debuff on the opponent.

With the help of Stigma of Curse, if your Soul Gate’s spirit succesfully land on your opponent it will deal more number of hits on your opponent. I do not add this skill because to get this skill you need waste 6 SP if you have Curse of Stigma and 9 SP which is me that doesn’t have Curse of Stigma. Soul Gate cool down is much more longer than Dark Summoner skill tree which is 35 seconds, it is not wise to depend on this skill for your defensive game play.

Spirit Beast, having decent damage even if you leave it on level 1. When the beast appear with the jumping animation it has a knock back effect, when the beast touched the ground it has another hit which is also knock back effect.

After the beast disappear underground the surrounding will form a blue wave which act as Cyclone Slash from Sword Master class but for a shorter period of time.

For a level 32 skill, it is wise to add it up to level 6 for the damage boost and with the cool down of 27 second of this skill it can act as combo linkage when your opponent is caught by Despair Needle.

Beast Spirit have the same curse debuff as Spirit Paper and with the same cool down activation of 2seconds. With level 6, the curse duration will increase to 6 seconds and the curse can be activate 3 time during the debuff.

For this build, the skill heraldry plates that I would like to recommend will be
1. Spirit Blow 20% Damage Increased.
2. Rampage Claw 20% Damage Increased.
3. Blitz Claw Cool Down Decrease by 12% from 16seconds -> 14 seconds
4. Revenge Hand Cool Down decrease by 12% from 22seconds -> 19.4seconds

———————————————————————————————–

With this information available, I hope you can make your own decisions for what skill plates to use.

For example if I’m going for a support/DPS-type screamer I’ll pick Grudge Formation 12% Cooldown/Summon Puppet 12% Cooldown/Resent Area Duration +20% as 3/4 of my plate choices.

Whether it is Cooldown/DMG/DebuffORBuff Duration Increase etc, make the choices for your skill plate depending on how your skill build was made in the first place.

You can also know what are the available options to craft for a plate so you know if its worthwhile to try and seal it to sell it.

This will be my last Kali Guide until I finish up a very important PVP video

Until then!

I’ll be sharing with you my reasons as usual for putting skill points into certain skills instead of another.

So before we get to the skill build itself I just want to dispel the notion that Soul Eater is less of a PVP class compared to the Dark Summoner.

Reason because this mechanic that is close to the Soul Eater side of the skill tree (right side) which is the Cursed State Mechanic

When a Target is cursed it takes damage (possible only every 2 seconds, this is the curse cooldown mentioned in the skill description) for every action it does.

The only action that isn’t taken into account is literally walking (evening dashing, auto attack counts)

In PVP, when you’re cursed, you take damage which is 100% of your Magic Attack (Currently around 2.9k for Compensation ON PVP) everytime when you do an action.

So basically, when you cursed an enemy with skills like beast spirit, spectre of pain and spirit paper EX, any action that your opponent do will cause him to take 2.9k damage.

You bait a tumble, you deal 2.9k damage, opponent casts a skill, you deal 2.9k damage etc you get the picture.

Spectre of Pain a Soul Eater skill has the longest curse duration of 15 seconds

Dark summoner can learn spirit paper too but at level 11, the curse duration is only 7 seconds for PVP. Beast spirit Level 6 curse duration is 6 seconds for PVP.

Basically if you manage to get your spectre of pain to hit, your opponent will need to rethink every action he does for 15 seconds which is a pretty long time if you ask me for PVP.

Now if you put it into the PVE side of things, curse duration is pretty kick ass as well as curse duration is longer for PVE (Spectre of Pain is 15s regardless of PVP/PVE), which means you do 100% of your Magic Power as damage every 2 seconds as long as your target is cursed and is doing any form of action.

With that in mind lets get to the Generic Pure PVE DPS Build for Soul Eater

In this skill build I’ve placed the points in the following (Simliar to the Dark Summoner Kali Tree SP Allocation):

Level 1 Soul Wind, Sting Breeze and Fancy Turn (By default at Level 1 learnt)

Level 16 Despair Needle (For explanation on why refer to Dark Summoner Skill Build Guide)

Turning Step and Dummy Ghost Max-ed at Level 50 Cap

Level 4 Aerial Evasion

Level 4 HP Mastery

Level 1 Mental Mastery (MAX MP Increase)

Level 1 Mind Conquer (MP Recovery)

Level 4 Phantom Guard Max at 50 Cap (Extra DMG Reduction per level)

Level 1 Spirit of Genie (No SP needed to learn, free skill at Level 35)

Level 1 Ghost Kick (Used for mobility in PVP/PVE)

As mentioned above, despair needle Level 16 will outweigh other possible options like Level 6 Negative Ghost with Level 6 Despair Needle or Level 16 Soul Wind with Level 1 Despair Needle.

Refer to the Dark summoner skill build guide for explanation in terms of DPS DMG Comparison over a period of 1 minute.

Let’s now focus on the Screamer side of the skill tree:

Level 5 Resent Area (If you’re choosing to invest in this skill, get Skill Plate +20% duration and Skill Ring for Level 6)

Level 5 Grudge Formation (+15% Attack Power for Allies, 100% Decrease in SA Destruction power for Enemies)

Level 2 Increased Soul

Level 1 Spirit Twinge

Level 1 Stigma of Curse

Level 4 Summon Puppet (+16% DMG for damage done on Puppet)

Level 6 Spirit Paper (Minimuim Req for EX)

Level 1 Cling Snake

Level 9 Soul Gate

Level 7 Beast Spirit

Level 1 Dragon’s Soul

Level 1 Phantom Claw, Chain Claw, Phantom’s Rage, Blitz Claw and Revenge Hand

Level 7 Rampage Claw

So I’ll just explain why we are not focusing only on the soul eater side of the tree.

With the testing stats of 11762 MATK 16% Dark Attack and Critical cap:

Level 11 Spirit Paper DMG: 97,000

Level 11 Cling Snake DMG: 114,000

Level 6 Spirit Paper DMG: 69,500

Level 1 Cling Snake DMG: 60,000

Difference between Level 11 SP + CS and Level 6 SP + Level 1 CS is 82,000 DMG

In other words, adding getting them to level 11 for both skills respectively gives you an increase in 82,000 DMG or around 38% DMG increase overall.

So if we don’t get Level 11 SP and CS we can get Level 7 Rampage Claw which does: 166,000 DMG

This meant that if you went Rampage Claw level 7, you can actually deal 102% more damage compared to getting Level 11 SP + CS!

There are also some players who tweak my previous skill builds by keeping the level 32 skills (like beast spirit and rampage claw at lvl6 to free up 2SP), however looking at the available options to spend those 2SP, in terms of DPS, it is best that you get both beast spirit and rampage claw to level 7 because 1 SP each will give you 21% increase in damage for those skills which is extremely worth while.

The next question you would ask will be “level 6 soul gate or level 9 soul gate”?

With the same stats mentioned above I did some testing.

Level 9 Soul Gate gives 12% more damage compared to Level 6 soul Gate.

12% is pretty significant considering only spending 3SP

Comparatively, 5SP spent in Spirit paper to get it from 6 to 11 will give you the same 12% increase in damage which is why investing 3SP into Soul Gate is the correct decision for max DPS.

Why no Ghost Scream?

If you look at the skill description, it only does 40% of your MATK and each level only increases it by 2%. I find this skill more useful for PVP instead of PVE in terms of DPS which is why I didn’t add it for the Pure DPS PVE build. Read further below to see if you still want to learn it.

This is how I arrived with the Generic DPS PVE skill build shown above.

You will realize that there is actually 6 SP left (You can only spend 5SP in screamer tree due to 91SP Limit) so here are some recommended options you can choose for your own preference:

Get Stigma Of Curse to Level 6 (5SP)

Learn Ghost Scream (3SP)

Learn Phantom’s Avenger Ultimate (3SP)

Option 1 Explanation

Stigma of Curse Level 6 is useful for both PVP and PVE

Skills like Spirit Paper and Soul Gate has an increase in “summons” for every branded target available.

Getting Stigma of Curse to Level 6 thus increase your soul gate damage and spirit paper damage together.

Much more useful that spending 5SP to get your spirit paper to Level 11

For PVP, having able to press the left mouse button to summon another talisman to brand your opponent meant that you can use the first talisman to bait this tumble and the second one to brand him.

Both summoning of the talisman can flinch a target as well which makes this skill very very useful

I’ll personally go for Stigma of Curse Level 6 if I build on from the generic build above

Option 2 Explanation

Ghost Scream gives your target a delayed state of 30% slow and this slow is reduced periodically

This skill is very useful when you chain combos in PVP for the screamer class in general (meaning it works for both DS and SE)

Especially so in a Despair Needle -> Ghost Scream combination and it allows you to summon the dummy ghost as well when you use it. (Basically aside from spirit twinge, you have another skill to summon the dummy ghost purposefully)

Extra mobility definitely helps but this is probably so in PVP than PVE except that in PVE having another skill to summon the dummy ghost is good for drawing aggro/fire/threat from boss(es)’s attack during the solo-ing of a dungeon or even when in a party.

Option 3 Explanation

Phantom’s Avenger Divine Avatar + Spirit Boost effect after cast is definitely very useful for both PVP and PVE

PVE wise if you need your cooldowns to go off faster, the 30% cool down time reduction while having the buff is great.

PVP/PVE wise having DA status is definitely something not to be missed and is extremely helpful.

This choice is definitely decent as well for PVE if you do consider it.

———————————————————

With those 3 options above to consider for the Generic PVE DPS Build lets move to our PVP Build for the Soul Eater.

Generic PVP Build for Soul Eater

In this skill build I’ve placed the points in the following

Level 1 Soul Wind, Sting Breeze and Fancy Turn (By default at Level 1 learnt)

Level 6 Despair Needle (Mainly used for utility but want to hit 45SP limit so get it to 6)

Level 6 Spirit Blow (Skill with decent SA and very useful for catching opponents/baiting tumbles)

Turning Step and Dummy Ghost Max-ed at Level 50 Cap

Level 4 Aerial Evasion

Level 4 HP Mastery

Level 1 Mental Mastery (MAX MP Increase)

Level 1 Mind Conquer (MP Recovery)

Level 4 Phantom Guard Max at 50 Cap (Extra DMG Reduction per level)

Level 1 Spirit of Genie (No SP needed to learn, free skill at Level 35)

Level 1 Ghost Kick (Used for mobility)

So the difference with this build compared to the one above is learning of spirit blow.

I got despair needle and spirit blow to level 6 to meet the 45SP requirement.

Spirit Blow is a must have in PVP for dancer or screamers and has decent SA defense and destruction.

Casting time isn’t too long and its SA destruction is high enough to break flying swing.

Despair Needle is like your poison spray for sorceress, definitely must have as well for chaining of combos to keep your target in a “hit-able” status.

For those who think that phantom guard will be “self-banned” then don’t bother adding SP into it but further increase your despair needle level.

But if you do Ladder/KOF PVP then Phantom Guard is a must to have.

Let’s move on to the Screamer side of the tree:

Level 1 Grudge Formation (Solely for the SA Destruction -30% on opponents, good for buying time for CD or catching them within during a combo so they can’t AE and cast a SA breaking skill and expect to disrupt you for sure. SA destruction reduction is 30% regardless of level 1 or 5)

Level 2 Increased Soul

Level 1 Spirit Twinge (Good skill that can stagger your opponents at mid range)

Level 6 Stigma of Curse (Level 6 allows you to summon an additional talisman, both talisman can stagger/flinch targets, extremely useful for pvp)

Level 4 Summon Puppet (+16% DMG for damage done on Puppet)

Level 6 Spirit Paper (Minimuim Req for EX)

Level 6 Cling Snake (40% slow instead of 30% at level6, and slow duration increased from 2.5 to 3 seconds)

Level 9 Soul Gate

Level 7 Beast Spirit

Level 1 Dragon’s Soul

Level 1 Phantom Claw, Chain Claw, Phantom’s Rage, Blitz Claw and Revenge Hand

Level 7 Rampage Claw

Level 1 Phantom’s Avenger (Ultimate to use in KOF or ladder PVP, DA+Spirit Boost status is too much to give a miss)

Unlike the PVE build above which is a little more generic (6SP for you to play around) this one is pretty much fixed.

If you want to make a pure 1v1 compensation ON build which you wouldn’t expect to be using ultimates, you can tweak this current build to that playstyle.

Nevertheless I want to point out some important things that requires further emphasis.

Level 1 Grudge formation instead of 5 though every increase in level do give you more damage done if your opponent is caught in the AOE. (3% dmg increase vs 9%)

If you cast it off-hand without your opponent in it, if they know the effects of the skill they wouldn’t step in which makes the increased damage pretty useless though it might be pretty useful in a coordinated attack for group PVP!

Also if you’re combo-ing your opponent and catching him in it might make it more useful as well.

The SA Destruction reduction of 30% is the main reason you’re learning it in PVP so if you prefer level 5 then by all means.

Cling Snake is Level 6 because the 40% slow is actually significant enough to prevent smooth usage of skills like counter exile and circle shot when your opponents are caught by it.

The duration is short however, only 3 seconds for PVP.

If you get all 3 snakes to hit, it hits decently as well, similar to ankle shot for bowmasters where all 3 arrows hit.

For Stigma of Curse Level 6, the extra talisman which you can summon with your left click mouse button after using the skill allows many opportunities that you can create.

This is because stigma of curse itself can stagger target. Opponents who know this will dodge the skill if you aimed it well, but having level 6 meant you can throw another which you thus if aimed properly be able to stagger him after baiting his dodge/tumble skills.

This makes stigma of curse level 6 very very useful for PVP.

The rest of the skills in the Dark summoner side of the tree is also extremely useful for pvp.

Blitz Claw has iframe, Phantom claw 3rd and 4th hit has decent stagger.

Revenge Hand suction effect and upward explosion extremely useful for chaining combos, revenge hand itself has decent casting SA defense as well.

If you’re wondering why Soul Gate is level 9 despite it being pretty easy to dodge much like dodging towers from the engineer class, if you watch PVP videos of Soul Eaters or Dark Summoners, you would find that it is possible to combo using Soul Gate to deal massive damage.

Here’s a short testing video by xdotdotdot with a level 36 screamer which shows you possible usage of Soul Gate in a PVP Combo.

All in all, read the explanations for learning the respective skills and tweak the build here and there to suit your playstyle or mode of PVP

For example you think that you will be doing more group pvp, get max-ed grudge formation for the 9% increase in damage for your allies

If you wish to see the video version of the PVE side of the skill build, feel free to watch the video below

As mentioned in the Blade Dancer Guide regardless of any skill build you follow that is ideal for you, you will need to skill reset at level 60.

So just a heads up so that you don’t blame me when this build cannot be built upon when 60 cap is released xD!

Reason is because the Kali Basic Tree skills like Physical Mastery, Turning Step, Dummy Ghost etc can further be leveled when 60 cap is released.

We however, must reach 45SP in 50 cap for us to learn our ultimate skill which is also required to unlock our 3rd job class skills.

When 60 cap arrives and you don’t reset your skill build, you will have over 45SP spent in your basic class tree which will thus cause your build to no longer be ideal.

This is something that can’t be helped and all we can do is hope that there’s a free reset scroll somehow at level 60 cap.

I’ll not be coming up with any kali class item builds anytime soon as I’ll be working on a PVP video/project that is pretty significant or big!

Yay! We are down to the last 2 Skill Build guide for Kali (Ok last 3 if you include Dark summoner PVP Skill Build :X)

As like all skill build guides, this guide only serve as a guidance/reference for you to make your own decision.

I’ll be sharing with you my reasons as usual for putting skill points into certain skills instead of another.

This time I’ll be providing a Pure PVE and PVP skill build for your choosing pleasure, but to be honest for spirit dancer, at least for 50 cap, you’re more of a hybrid where a PVE build can also work for a PVP Build as long as you tweak the generic ones I post correctly.

With that I’ll go ahead with the Generic PVE Skill Build First.

In this skill build I’ve placed the points in the following (Simliar to the Blade Dancer Kali Tree SP Allocation):

Level 1 Soul Wind, Sting Breeze and Fancy Turn (By default at Level 1 learnt)

Level 11 Spirit Blow

Turning Step and Dummy Ghost Max-ed at Level 50 Cap

Level 4 Aerial Evasion

Level 4 HP Mastery

Level 4 Mental Mastery (MAX MP Increase)

Level 3 Mind Conquer (MP Recovery)

Level 4 Phantom Guard Max at 50 Cap (Extra DMG Reduction per level)

Level 1 Spirit of Genie (No SP needed to learn, free skill at Level 35)

Level 1 Ghost Kick (Used for reducing Landing Time when using Twinkle Spin)

Level 1 Despair Needle (Utility in PVP)

Note: You can actually tweak this build a little by not learning Despair Needle and further leveling your Mental Master to Level 4 with those extra SP, but Despair Needle is great for utility in PVP

For the Dancer Side, here are the points allocation:

Level 6 Stalker (Minimum Level 6 to learn EX)

Level 1 Dusk Hunter

Level 1 Abolisher (Useful for re-lift in PVP for Combos)

Level 6 Sufi Dancer

Level 7 General Dunblade

Level 3 Ecstatic Dance Part 1 (For summoning of Orc for heals when solo-ing dungeon)

Level 2 Ecstatic Dance Part 2 (For summoning of Dark Elf for Finish Attack Buff for Party)

Level 2 Ecstatic Dance Part 3 (For summoning Minotaur to increase Healing received and Max HP for party)

Level 6 Illusion Dance

Level 1 Illusion Gaze

Level 1 Breeze Call Dance

Level 1 Breeze Call

Level 1 Graze Dance

Level 1 Sweet Circle

Level 1 Twinkle Spin

Level 6 Refreshing Screw/Deadly Drill

Level 7 Elegant Storm

For the Spirit Dancer side of the tree, it is pretty much standard:

Level 2 Wide Stinger

Level 1 Praetor

Stalker EX learnt

As you can see from above I have 6 SP left. But before I get to the options you may want to spend them let’s talk about why I didn’t consider leveling skills like Dusk Hunter, Stalker and Abolisher to level 11,11 and 6 respectively.

I’ve done my testing for this 2 skills with 13,600 PATK and Critical Cap with Level 6 Illusion Dance and here are the results:

Level 6 Abolisher : 81,000 DMG

Level 11 Dusk Hunter: 122,000 DMG

Level 11 Stalker: 105,000 DMG

Total: 308,000 DMG

So if you actually leveled these skills you won’t have enough SP to go and level Elegant Storm and Refreshing Screw/Deadly Drill to Level 7 and 6 respectively.

So just how much damage can Level 6 Refreshing Screw/Deadly Drill and Elegant Storm do with the same stats mentioned above?

As always with testing, here are the results:

Level 6 Refreshing Screw: 170,000 DMG

Level 7 Elegant Storm: 476,000 DMG

Total: 646,000 DMG

Comparing the difference in damage in percentage, you’re looking at a difference of 109%

So for PVE, going for Refreshing Screw/Deadly Drill and Elegant Storm at Level 50 cap is definitely a must.

So what can you do with the Last 6 SP that you have?

There are mainly 4 options:

Get Stalker to Level 11 (Uses 5SP)

Get Illusion Dance to Level 8 for more HP healed, DMG Reduction and Duration / Learn Inner Fire (Uses 5SP)

Get Dusk Hunter / Abolisher to Level 6

Get Mist Step to Level 5 (PVE Cooldown decreases from 18 to 14s, PVP unchanged)

Personally I’ll go for the 2nd option

Reason being that I’ll probably PVP with my spirit dancer as well if I had this class, and for both PVP/PVE you will want to max your illusion dance since it increase the duration.

Increased duration meant more skills can be used while you’re in your spirit enhancement state, allow you to cast more skills with increased damage, this will be better for PVE

For PVP, you actually heal more with level 8 illusion dance compared to level 6.

So why Inner Fire? Storm of Ewiniar definitely triumphs Inner fire in terms of utility because you can control/direction your ultimate and you have a long period of invincibility.

However the range of SoE is pretty short and Inner Fire might be very good to catch opponents just like how swordmasters can use infinity edge and acrobats can use divine rage.

I also prefer Inner Fire’s omnislash like-ness which is why I would go for option 2.

Hopefully this helps you build a Level 50 PVE Spirit Dancer.

Let’s move on to the Generic PVP Spirit Dancer Build

Level 1 Dusk Hunter (Can be used for Wall-bounce)

Level 1 Abolisher (Useful for re-lift in PVP for Combos)

Level 6 Sufi Dancer (Decent DPS, good for keep targets hit-table)

Level 7 General Dunblade (Great DPS)

Level 3 Ecstatic Dance Part 1 (For summoning of Orc for heals in KOF/Ladder PVP)

Level 8 Illusion Dance (Max-ed for More Heals, Buff Duration and Reduced Damage Taken)

Level 1 Illusion Gaze

Level 1 Breeze Call Dance

Level 1 Breeze Call

Level 1 Graze Dance

Level 1 Sweet Circle

Level 6 Twinkle Spin (Used in chaining many combos, extra levels will help)

Level 1 Refreshing Screw/Deadly Drill (Read below for more information)

Level 7 Elegant Storm (great for catching opponents after they use their Aerial Evasion, great damage as well)

For the Spirit Dancer side of the tree, it is pretty much standard:

Level 2 Wide Stinger (Grants you soul enhancement state, Praetor and General Dunblade Critical Probility increased by 90%)

Level 1 Praetor (the skill you want to land in PVP)

Stalker EX learnt

Alright things to take note in this generic build (Some are mentioned in the brackets) but firstly I want to mention that leveling Sinia Turn and Mist Step DOES NOT decrease the cooldown in PVP.

I noticed that some level 60 pure pvp skill builds available out there do level this skill (because the cooldown decreases in their level 60 cap versions? I don’t know)

For proof you can watch the video embedded towards the end of the guide, so keeping Sinia Turn and Mist Step at level 1 for PVP in DNSEA Level 50 cap is all good.

Ecstatic Dancer Part 1 is still learnt as the heal is definitely very useful in KOF/Ladder PVP, so if you are solely going for 1v1 Compensation ON Colosseum PVP, you can choose to ignore that.

If you ignore learning Ecstatic Dance you can get level 6 refreshing screw/deadly drill with Level 6 twinkle spin.

The reason why I chose to get Level 6 twinkle spin instead of Level 6 refreshing screw is because in PVP, refreshing screw is used for wall bounce in combos where you will post probably not be able to land that last hit on the target as the spinning animation will cause the opponent to be spun up into the air against the wall like a bounce which meant that the last hit will not connect.

So where else can you place your spare 8 SP (Or 13SP if you don’t learn Ecstatic Dance)

Here are some recommended options with reasons:

Abolisher Level 6 (if you’re using it alot in your rotation, get it to 6 for more DMG, note that the dmg growth from 1 and 6 in PVP isn’t that great)

Level 11 Stalker (Tracking skill that can uplift your opponent with your EX version, decent damage as well but enemies can run behind walls/statue to cause it to explode)

Get both Refreshing Screw and Twinkle Spin to Level 6 (Reasons mentioned above)

Learn Duo Ultimate (Learn Inner fire, Inner Fire might be very good to catch opponents just like how swordmasters can use infinity edge and acrobats can use divine rage)

OR you can simply go hybrid and learn the rest of the Ecstatic Dance part 2 and 3 so you can be viable in a PVE setting as well!

All the abovementioned and damage testing is shown in this video below, including most of what is mentioned in the written guide as well.

I hope this guide is useful to all spirit dancers out there

I know players have been asking for item builds as well for the new Kali class but that needs time so bear with me for now.

Next skill build guide will be the Soul Eater one which should be up by Tuesday.

Next skill build guide will be the spirit dancer (Notice the screamer and dancer class taking turns here)

Like all skill build guides, it only serve as a guidance/reference for you to make your own decision.

I’ll be sharing with you my reasons as usual for putting skill points into certain skills instead of another.

There is currently no PVP Build that I can share confidently with you yet at the moment so do bear with me for now.

However I believe this Pure PVE Build that I’ll be sharing today will definitely be one of the best available in Level 50 cap.

I’ll go in sequence this time in order of the various class trees in which you will find yourself wondering how you should allocate your SP points especially when they are multiple skills in the Kali Basic Tree for example with the Dark Attribute that you might be interested to know which is worth while in adding.

I’ll thus go in the order of the 2 Skill Trees which is the Kali and Screamer respectively in detail while first sharing the obvious Dark Summoner Tree in which you simply max everything available there.

Thank you Mr.Obvious Kazu xD

Let’s get down to business firstly with the Kali side of the tree.

I’ll first share with you 3 options that you will probably ponder to see if which was better in terms of DPS:

Level 1 Soul Wind, Level 6 Despair Needle, Level 6 Negative Ghost

Level 1 Soul Wind, Level 16 Despair Needle

Level 16 Soul Wind, Level 1 Despair Needle

Option 1

Option 2

Option 3

After testing myself I’ve come to the conclusion that Option 1 and 3 have around the same DPS.

Option 2 with Level 1 Soul Wind and Level 16 Despair Needle has 7.5% More DPS compared to Option 1 and 3

For proof watch the video version of this guide which will be embedded close to the bottom of this guide.

I also prefer Level 16 Despair Needle as when hitting level 50, the number of skills you have on the hotkey bar that you must take note off and cast is alot for a Dark Summoner.

Despair Needle is a Damage Over Time (DOT) skill that you can cast quickly and not bother about it anymore xD!

Compared to Option 1 which requires you to cast Soul Wind, Negative Ghost AND despair needle to even come close to Option 2′s Level 16 Despair Needle option, it is definitely too much hassle.

So if you’re not a fan of Despair Needle and want to keep it at Level 1, take the Level 16 Soul Wind option instead.

Note that I’m not taking into consideration Negative Ghost’s skill effect that will make monsters loss their will or aggro towards you (Basically means you buy yourself time not to get hit by affected monsters)

However, Negative Ghost do not work on bosses in Nests from Minotaur Nests onwards. (Able to work on the 2 minotaurs mini boss at MInotaur Nest, but not from Cerberus Nest Mini Bosses and onwards AFAIK)

This makes negative ghost a useful skill while leveling at the beginning but towards the higher level nest, it is not as effective or useful.

I’ve decided to do the damage test because googling a PVE Dark summoner build so far, I’ve found guides max-ing Negative Ghost as an option which was why I decided to put it to the test.

My verdict is that Negative Ghost is not worth leveling if you’re looking into a Pure PVE DPS Dark Summoner build.

Let’s move on to the Screamer Tree now where I’ll present you 2 main options that many will ponder over as well:

Is a Pure Dark Summoner Claw Build (Focusing on Max-ing Levels for Left side of Tree) viable?

Is Hybrid Dark Summoner with Soul Gate and Beast Spirit Max-ed a better choice?

Before we get to that let’s look at a Generic Pure Dark Summoner Claw Build

Points to note:

Level 5 Resent Area (If you’re choosing to invest in this skill, get Skill Plate +20% duration and Skill Ring for Level 6)

Level 5 Grudge Formation (+15% Attack Power for Allies, 100% Decrease in SA Destruction power for Enemies)

Level 2 Increased Soul

Level 1 Stigma of Curse

Level 4 Summon Puppet (+16% DMG for damage done on Puppet)

Level 6 Phantom’s Rage & Blitz Claw

Level 6 Revenge Hand

Level 7 Rampage Claw

Level 11 Phantom Claw EX

Level 11 Chain Claw

Resent Area is really a skill that does decent amount of DPS.

You must get the skill plate for 20% Duration which will get you 9 Ticks of damage instead of 7 and get the skill ring for the skill to get it to level 6 which increases it damage by close to 40%

As you can see, this build focus on maximizing all possible SP on skills that are on the left side of the Skill Tree meant for the Dark Summoner Class.

With my Testing Gear of 10800MATK, 27% Dark Attack and Critical Cap I arrived at these DMG for the various skills that are important for Comparison:

All damage is done without Grudge Formation, Summon Puppet, Increased Soul or Sadism Pleasure

Level 11 Phantom Claw EX - 95,000

Level 11 Chain Claw – 50,000

Level 6 Revenge Hand - 77,600

Level 6 Phantom’s Rage - 68,000

Level 6 Blitz Claw – 71,000

Total: 361,000 DMG

For proof watch the video version of this guide which will be embedded close to the bottom of this guide.

So why am I highlighting the damage for these skills?

Well, we compare them to another build which does not level skills like chain claw, revenge hand, phantom’s rage and Blitz claw to such high levels and instead put the SP into learning Soul Gate Level 9 and Beast Spirit Level 7 as shown below.

Hybrid Dark Summoner Pure PVE DPS Build (Screamer Tree)

Points to note:

Level 5 Resent Area (If you’re choosing to invest in this skill, get Skill Plate +20% duration and Skill Ring for Level 6)

Level 5 Grudge Formation (+15% Attack Power for Allies, 100% Decrease in SA Destruction power for Enemies)

Level 2 Increased Soul

Level 1 Stigma of Curse

Level 4 Summon Puppet (+16% DMG for damage done on Puppet)

Level 1 Phantom’s Rage & Blitz Claw

Level 1 Revenge Hand

Level 7 Rampage Claw

Level 11 Phantom Claw EX’

Level 1 Spirit Paper

Level 1 Cling of Snake

Level 9 Soul Gate

Level 7 Beast Spirit

Make sure you have read the paragraph above regarding Resent Area!

So basically, we have got our Revenge Hand, Chain Claw, Phantom’s Rage and Blitz Claw down to Level 1 to get Level 9 Soul Gate and Level 7 Beast Spirit.

It feels like 4 skills exchanging for 2 which might not seem to be a good trade off.

Similarly, with the same gear set up of 10800MATK, 27% Dark Attack and Critical Cap I arrived at these DMG for Level 9 Soul Gate and Level 7 Beast Spirit:

Level 9 Soul Gate – 380,000 (19k x 4 hits, and fired 5 times)

Level 7 Beast Spirit – 215,000

Level 11 Phantom Claw EX – 95,000

Total: 690,000 DMG

For proof watch the video version of this guide which will be embedded close to the bottom of this guide.

As you can see this hybrid build in the screamer tree with soul gate and beast spirit provides for over 90.8% more DMG compared to the pure build.

With that we have our resultant Pure PVE DPS Build, now with the full screenshot of all 3 skill trees.

Hybrid Pure PVE DPS Dark Summoner Build

In doubt you can always watch my video guide of what is mentioned here!

It is pretty much the same thing

I’ll try wait for further feedback from Kenshi92 who is playing a pure PVP Dark Summoner to build a PVP build for everyone.

The next skill build guide will be for the Spirit Dancer which I’ll try come up by Saturday Night.

I’ve been going without sleep (or only 1-3hours of sleep) for the past 5 days and this weekend I’ll be meeting up with players to go for the Avatar Stars Event at Funan Digital Life Mall

If you’re from Singapore and are interested to go with us, check out the event page details here: http://www.facebook.com/events/127110817474863/

So yeah, I need some rest if possible >_< Don’t get mad at me if the spirit dancer and soul eater skill build guides don’t come up as quickly.

Quality is more important than just rushing out a guide and I want to make sure I test out various skill points allocations (much like this guide and the blade dancer guide) as much as possible.

Alright before you ask me where are the skill build guides for the Spirit Dancer, Dark Summoner and Soul Eater, they are currently work in progress.

I’ll be busy helping out with events in Singapore at the Funan IT Mall for Avatar Star and Dragon Nest for the next 4 days (4th -7th April 2013)

As like all skill build guides, it only serve as a guidance/reference for you to make your own decision.

I’ll be sharing with you my reasons as usual for putting skill points into certain skills instead of another.

The relevance and accuracy for this skill build guide will be leaning towards the Pure PVE Blade Dancer skill build.

The PVP Blade Dancer skill build I cannot say with confidence that it will be the ideal one because I’ve yet to hit Level 50 for any Kali class in the LIVE servers to test the PVP damage on anyone.

The decisions behind the PVP Blade Dancer skill build will be based off the utility of the skills in see in my own PVE experiences so far with the class.

So take the PVP Skill build with a pinch of salt, but if you need some confidence, Falala who is training his own PVP Blade Dancer is currently following this build that I’ve recommended for him.

Let’s get to the Pure PVE Skill Build that I strongly recommend first.

Level 50 Pure PVE Skill Build for Blade Dancer

Kali Tree

The key to all basic class skill tree for all skill builds in 50/60 cap will be to meet that 45 SP requirement for you to learn your ultimate skill.

Without learning your 3rd job’s ultimate skill, which in the case of blade dancer is “Inner fire”, you will not be able to learn your level 45+ skills like Squall Flaker, Hurricane Gust etc.

So this is something that all skill builds cannot get away with.

Since that’s the case, we need to maximize the 45 SP we will be using in the basic class tree!

In this skill build I’ve placed the points in the following:

Level 1 Soul Wind, Sting Breeze and Fancy Turn (By default at Level 1 learnt)

Level 11 Spirit Blow

Turning Step and Dummy Ghost Max-ed at Level 50 Cap

Level 4 Aerial Evasion

Level 4 HP Mastery

Level 4 Mental Mastery (MAX MP Increase)

Level 3 Mind Conquer (MP Recovery)

Level 4 Phantom Guard Max at 50 Cap (Extra DMG Reduction per level)

Level 1 Spirit of Genie (No SP needed to learn, free skill at Level 35)

Level 1 Ghost Kick (Used for reducing Landing Time when using Twinkle Spin)

Note: You can actually tweak this build a little by leaving Mental Mastery at Level 1 and learning Level 1 Despair Needle if you want to have this still for utility

For the Dancer Side, here are the points allocation:

Level 6 Graze Dance (Minimum level required to learn EX)

Level 1 Sweet Circle

Level 6 Twinkle Spin

Level 6 Deadly Drill/Refreshing Screw

Level 7 Elegant Storm

Level 6 Breeze Call Dance

Level 1 Breeze Call (Passive Skill)

Level 1 Illusion Dance

Level 1 Illusion Gaze (Passive Skill)

Level 1 Sinia Turn (Passive Skill)

Level 1 Mist Step

Level 1 Stalker

For the Blade Dancer Skill Tree it is pretty standard:

Level 2 Squall Flaker (Max-ed for 50 cap)

Level 1 Hurricane Gust

Graze Dance EX learnt

Most of the short reasons I’ve placed in brackets but for knowing why the skill points are allocated in this manner watch the video that I’ve made solely for this Pure PVE skill build guide.

What you can expect in the video is damage comparison for:

Level 1 vs Level 6 Twinkle Spin / Deadly Drill DMG Comparison

Level 7 Elegant Storm and General Dunblade damage.

Level 1 vs Level 6 Sufi Dancer

Reasons why the Level 6 Graze Dance with Level 6 Sufi Dancer SP allocated is used instead of the Level 11 Graze Dance with Level 1 Sufi Dancer

Alright lets move on to the plausible PVP Build for Blade Dancer.

One thing to bear in mind is that the reason why many considered Blade Dancer similar to acrobats is because of the skills available in the skill build.

Acrobats who played either Windwalker or Tempest will know that most of them might have level-ed both Spiral Vortex and Cyclone kick to Level 6 for Max DPS in their combos.

Similarly like the Blade Dancer, not getting General Dunblade will cause you to lose out in alot of potential PVP DPS you can dish out when you get that chance to combo a player.

Nevertheless, if you searched for Pure PVP Blade dancer builds now, you will find that most of them actually stop at Abolisher for the spirit dancer side of the tree.

The reason why they can do so is because they are in Level 60 cap and the you’re able to increase your skills to much higher levels in the blade dancer side of the tree.

Not to mention the non EX versions of Sweet Circle and Twinkle Spin make it less plausible for you to add SP into them at 50 cap.

Sweet Circle EX increases the attack animation of this skill by 30%, and Twinkle Spin EX allows you to knock your opponent to the ground solving the slow landing animation of the non-EX versions

The SP you thus spend just to get General Dunblade (12SP) in the tree previously at 50 cap can actually be used for increasing your core Blade dancer skills to higher levels which are alot more useful than they are now at 60 cap.

With this in mind, know that this PVP Build is made for Level 50 and as mentioned above, I’ve yet to try it out personally which meant that this is based of my experience with the blade dancer so far as well as my knowledge with Dragon Nest PVP so far.

Level 50 Blade Dancer Generic PVP Build

I’ll just share the points allocation first as always

Kali Tree: Same as PVE Build Above (You can remove 3 SP from Mental Mastery and Add to Level 1 Despair Needle if you find this skill useful for you in PVP)

Concept: To achieve 45 SP to learn ultimate.

Level 1 Soul Wind, Sting Breeze and Fancy Turn (By default at Level 1 learnt)

Level 11 Spirit Blow

Turning Step and Dummy Ghost Max-ed at Level 50 Cap

Level 4 Aerial Evasion

Level 4 HP Mastery

Level 4 Mental Mastery (MAX MP Increase)

Level 3 Mind Conquer (MP Recovery)

Level 4 Phantom Guard Max at 50 Cap (Extra DMG Reduction per level)

Level 1 Spirit of Genie (No SP needed to learn, free skill at Level 35)

Level 1 Ghost Kick (Used for reducing Landing Time when using Twinkle Spin)

Dancer Tree:

Level 6 Graze Dance (Minimum level required to learn EX)

Level 1 Sweet Circle

Level 6 Twinkle Spin

Level 6 Deadly Drill/Refreshing Screw

Level 7 Elegant Storm

Level 8 Breeze Call Dance (1s longer buff duration, 1% more HP Healed, every bit counts in PVP that’s why its maxed)

Level 1 Breeze Call (Passive Skill)

Level 1 Illusion Dance

Level 1 Illusion Gaze (Passive Skill)

Level 1 Sinia Turn (Passive Skill)

Level 1 Mist Step

Level 1 Stalker

Level 1 Dusk Hunter

Level 1 Abolisher (Useful for re-lift in PVP for Combos)

Level 1 Sufi Dancer

Level 7 General Dunblade

Level 3 Ecstatic Dance Part 1 (For summoning of Orc for heals, only 0.5s channel, useful in ladder PVP or group PVP)

For the Blade Dancer Skill Tree it is pretty standard:

Level 2 Squall Flaker (Max-ed for 50 cap)

Level 1 Hurricane Gust

Graze Dance EX learnt

Amount of Unused SP: 8

How you want to allocate this 8 SP is up to you.

Here are a few recommended options:

5 SP to Sufi Dancer to get it to Level 6 (Searching around, I’ve seen some players who tried kali in cDN saying that this is a useful skill in PVP, but looking up blade dancer PVP skill builds at 60 cap as mentioned above, they only added up to abolisher)

5 SP to Graze Dancer to get it to Level 11

2SP to Twinkle Spin and 2SP to Deadly Drill then save the rest.

You might be wondering why we don’t add any SP to the mobility skills like Sinia turn or Mist Step?

Well their PVP Cooldowns do not decrease even if you add them to Level 6 for Sinia Turn (15 seconds) and Level 5 (18 Seconds) for Mist Step

Note: for PVE Mist Step cooldown decreases 1second per level, Sinia Turn 0.5 seconds reduction per level

Please note that I’ve used the dn.mmosite T4 skill simulator (PVP) version and they show a decrease in cooldown per level but trying and checking it with the skill description in our actual DNSEA live servers shows that the cooldowns do not decrease per level for PVP.

So currently I do not know who is right or wrong or if there’s a change for Level 60 for dancer skills but currently I’ve seen Level 60 Blade Dancer PVP builds with Level 7 Mist Step.

In any case, all the builds mentioned here regardless of PVP/PVE will need to be reset-ed when Level 60 cap is released D:!

Why you might ask?

This is because of the 45 SP requirement for us to learn our ultimate skills which we must learn because we will not be able to learn our 3rd job skills if we don’t

When we hit Level 60 cap, skills like Phantom Guard, HP Mastery, Turning Step, Dummy Ghost will all be opened for increase in Levels and obviously these important skills must be maxed.

This meant that we will spend more than 45SP in our basic class tree which meant that our build will no longer be ideal.

Ideal builds for both PVP and PVE look at only spending 45SP in the basic class tree for most classes with exception to a few like Acrobats/Bowmasters where max-ing skills like Twin-shot is important.

This meant that if you are using an ideal build in 50 cap and want to build an ideal level 60 cap build you will end up using a skill reset

All we can do now is hope that when we reach level 60, there is some form of reward to give us a skill reset scroll.

If not, let’s hope cherry credits will organize some sort of event that will reward us with that scroll or… yeah spend some gold/cc to get 1 in advance.

Also for more information about how certain dancer skills work you can read this thread credits to iAyanami from the DN Cherry Credit Forums

Alright Kali has been released to Dragon Nest SEA on 2nd of April 2013 ~!

Unlike cDN and kDN, we have Kali at 50 cap instead of 60 cap!

For those who didn’t try the class in cDN or kDN you will be pretty unfamiliar with this new class.

This post will focus on helping you decide which class you might want to play as a Kali!

Will it be Dancer or Screamer?

Will it be Blade Dancer or Spirit Dancer? Or will it be Dark Summoner or Soul Eater?

I hope this post will help you decide in some ways (big or small) on your own choice

Let’s start off with a simple picture below of the various classes that you can be as a Kali.

So the first thing that will interest you will what will these classes base stat be?

What exactly is base stats?

Look at the table below.

Basically you can see that the Kali or academic class is not in the table as this table is outdated.

So the first thing that many players will know (or maybe not) is that the dancer class is based of STR and the Screamer class is based of INT.

What this means is that for Kali, every STR you gain will give you 0.5 Attack Power and every INT you gain will give you 0.5 Magic Attack

So first thing to note will be that Dancer despite its flashy blade skills and movement skills similar to the acrobat IS NOT based off AGI.

This is extremely important to know because it affects your item build heavily.

To make it simple, gearing a Dancer is similar to gearing a Gladiator, Barbarian and Destroyer.

Note however when gearing towards the critical cap to take into account passive skill Breeze Call of the dancer skill tree which gives you 30% increased critical chance during the buff duration. Other skills Wide Stinger of the Spirit Dancer class will give grant you soul enhancement state and gives skills like Praetor and General Dunblade 90% Increase in critical probability.

So the first question for avid Kali users will be this:

Screamer or Dancer?

Do note that what is mentioned here is based off my own experience so far with Kali in the Test Servers and do note that I have not played any Kali classes in cDN and kDN, so do take my opinion with a pinch of salt.

I’ll start with the Screamer class first with it’s 3rd job classes being Dark Summoner (DS) and Soul Eater (SE).

Firstly, almost every skill in the Screamer class is of the Dark Attribute/Element.

You must know this first-hand because many monsters in dungeons/nests are actually dark resistant. You need to be prepared to face those monsters and not be discouraged by that.

Do not be fooled by the Moonblade dance like skill – “Phantom Rage” because you will most probably keep it at level 1 and most guides I’ve read pointed out that it is used as a mobility skill like Aerial Chain shot for the bowmaster class. The damage for this skill is medicore and you most probably will not invest SP in this skill.

So if you’re a Moonlord thinking of re-rolling to a Screamer, stick to your awesome Moonblade dance.

On the left side of the skill tree which is for DS side, you basically summon dark/phantom limbs like claws & hands to deal damage.

On the right side of the skill tree which is for the SE side, you basically summon unique objects to do with spirits to deal damage. Skills like Spirit Paper, Snakes, Soul Gate which fires out spirits and my favourite beast spirit is basically the soul eater side for the screamer skill tree.

Aside from that you are equipped with the ability to brand/curse targets.

Screamers have a skill called “summon puppet” which allows you to summon a dummy of a branded target. This puppet/dummy takes increased damagge and can be damaged to deal damage directly to the branded target.

Imagine being able to do damage to a monster/player without having to stand within its attacking radius.

This puppet can also be attacked by your party members which provides unique strategies for nests/raids in dragon nest

You also have a skill called “Grudge Formation” which decreases the super armor destruction ability of affected targets in the Area of Effect (AOE) by 100%

Morever, this skill increases your party members overall damage as well up to 15% for PVE at level 50

These abovementioned features are unique only to the screamer class and definitely important in deciding if you want to choose to play it.

If you’re a fan of dark purple, blue, white and pinkish colours, the screamer class might suit you very well because these are the main colours for the skills.

To see a showcase of what a Screamer can do up to Level 40, check out the Level 24 & 40 showcase videos that I’ve done up which basically is a first impressions of the screamer class at those various levels.

Make sure you watch those videos before proceeding to read on about the dancer class.

So next up we have the Dancer class which 3rd job classes are the Blade Dancer and Spirit Dancer.

So the first thing you will want to know is that the dancer class is NOT an acrobat copycat.

There are only a couple of skills that are similar.

One of them is Twinkle Spin which looks like double somersault kick but IS NOT a passive skill. It is an active skill instead which has a cooldown unlike double somersault kick.

The second thing you need to know is that the dancer class actually needs to spend alot of time “buffing” itself to deal the damage it can dish out.

It is called getting yourself in the respective enhancement states known as the “blade enhancement state” and the “spirit enhancement state”

There have 2 dances.

Breeze Call Dance for the blade dancer side of the skill tree, and the Illusion Dance for the spirit dancer side of the skill tree.

Both skills basically increases the final damage of your skills in the respective side of the skill tree.

So imagine yourself casting one of these 2 skills before using your damage skills which you MUST do in order to maximize the damage of your skills.

Failing to do so, you will find yourself wondering why the dancer class seems to pale in comparison to the screamer.

The blade dancer side of the tree focuses primarily on the kali character casting out skill animations herself with unique maneuvers while the spirit dancer side of the tree (right side of the dancer class) focuses on “summoning” genie like spirits to aid in her attacks.

Once you have chosen to be a dancer, choosing to be a blade dancer or spirit dancer is extremely important as they are very very different in terms of play style.

We will get to that later in the guide but let’s touch on the “ Ecstatic Dance” skill of the dancer class.

This skill is extremely fun as it allows you to summon monsters that gives unique buffs/debuffs depending on whether your choosing.

At the initial level without its “Part 2″ Variations, you are able to summon Ghouls to give debuffs to monsters where they will take X DMG for every hit on them (left click variation) or you can summon an Orc which will heal you and your party members (right click variation).

When you get the “Part 2″ variations as you level up, you are able to summon Dark Elves to give a Finish Attack like Buff for your party members on the affected monsters in the area (left click variation after you wait for 1.5s) or you can summon a Dancing Minotaur to increase healing by 30% for your party as well as increasing Maxmium HP.

In general, left click variations are offensive/debuffs while right click variations are defensive/healing/buffs.

The finish attack like buff is extremely useful for nests/raids. Imagine every party member able to deal additional damage similar to the effect of finish attack for EVERY SKILL THEY DO.

The next thing I definitely want to test is to see if Finish Attack’s own additional damage can stack with the Dark Elves, because if it is possible, having a Gladiator and a Dancer in a party will allow huge damage to be done when bosses are below a % amount of HP.

Ecstatic Dance is definitely something unique to the dancer class and should be an importance to your choice in choosing a dancer.

For more actual accounts of how a dancer can perform for levels up to level 40, check out the showcase videos I’ve prepared :)

Alright, make sure you have gone through all the above videos to give you a good idea of what a screamer and dancer is like.

So let’s get to the stuff that are important once you have chosen to be a dancer or a screamer.

Screamer – Dark Summoner or Soul Eater?

The first thing I want to mention is get that “one class is always more leaning towards PVP/PVE” idea” out of the way.

As far as I can see both the DS and SE are capable in PVE/PVP!

My usual advice for everyone that asks me if xxx class is better than xxx class is that you choose the class that fits your play style.

Ultimately you’re the one piloting the character not me, so make sure you make the choice that YOU want, not what I want.

And what determines the playstyle of a class?

In my opinion, it is the Level 50 skills as well as the EX skills that will define the playstyle of a class.

In that way, I’ll tell you more about the EX skills and 50 skill for the DS and SE and hopefully it will help you decide which one you want.

Bear in mind that you should also take into consideration the future Level 60 EX skills as well.

DS has the Phantom Claw EX skill.

This skill is essentially similar to Gladiator’s Triple Slash EX but have no alternate variations but it’s 3rd hit (can do up to 4 hits) has an uplift.

The 4th hit itself keeps the target mid-air if you get the 3rd hit to connect and you can chain this skill with Chain Claw which is another uplift.

SE on the other hand has the Spirit Paper EX skill.

Because it is just increased damage and number of hits (from 4 hits to 12hits ; Branded targets can be hit up to 16 times) and have no flinching/staggering in the skill, it is definitely less viable in PVP compared to DS’s Phantom Claw EX. This is also why many consider Dark Summoner the PVP Arc of the Screamer class and Soul Eater the PVE.

However the above notion is not entirely correct.

As a Soul Eater you can also learn chain claw and phantom claw itself without its EX version is still useful even for a Soul Eater. This is like good moonlords still being able to utilize triple slash as a wall bounce with the 2nd hit even without the EX version. Phantom Claw EX only makes phantom claw a more convenient skill to use for uplift/knockback with its non EX counter part.

Similarly, many mentioned that skills like Soul Gate are the best DPS skills for a screamer and it lying in the SE side of the screamer skill tree makes SE a pve sided class. Not entirely correct once again as as a Dark Summoner, you can also get this skill to a decent level to do the DPS it does. Obviously at 60 cap with Soul Gate EX, the SE Version of Soul Gate will be stronger but DS also have their Revenge Hand EX.

My point is, ultimately, it is up to the user that decides if the class is meant for PVP and PVE which is determined by your skill build.

My general feel of both DS and SE after playing them at level 50 and running an archbishop nest solo is that both of them are balanced for PVE, neither one is stronger.

Here is the reason why.

Let’s for example look towards the future where Soul Gate EX is available to Soul Eaters, and mentioned by many as the best DPS skill to have as a screamer, technically Soul Eaters will out DPS a Dark Summoner because the EX Version usually increase the damage in PVE by 30% hence a non EX Soul Gate will pale in comparison.

However, when you take a look at the level 50 skill of the Dark Summoner which is Sadism Pleasure (Increase Dark Attack % and HP regained from % DMG of skills) and Chaos Formation. Both of these 2 skills actually allows the Dark Summoner to deal more damage compared to a Soul Eater. Not to mention Rampage Claw dealing higher damage compared to Beast Spirit but Revenge hand dealing lesser damage compared to Sufi Genie.

You get the idea now don’t you? Both classes have their strengths and weaknesses and if you compare all of them, you find that the DS and SE is pretty balanced in terms of PVE.

PVP wise, there’s not much to be said except that it always comes down to the user in the end.

You will always find players who are great in their respective arch class types despite common assumption that a certain class is better than a certain class in terms of PVP.

That being said you can have a better idea from my Level 50 Showcase Video of Dark Summoner and Soul Eater below which includes a Archbishop Nest Solo run by both of them.

Dancer – Blade Dancer or Spirit Dancer? (Introduction Paragraph similar to above ;p)

The first thing I want to mention is get that “one class is always more leaning towards PVP/PVE” idea” out of the way.

As far as I can see both the Blade Dancer (BD) and the Spirit Dancer (SD) are capable in PVP/PVE!

In that way, I’ll tell you more about the EX skills and 50 skill for the BD and SD and hopefully it will help you decide which one you want.

Bear in mind that you should also take into consideration the future Level 60 EX skills as well.

I will first throw out there that deciding between Dark Summoner and Soul Eater is alot easier compared to deciding between Blade and Spirit Dancer.

With my experience with both of them so far I hope I can help make that a tad easier ?

As mentioned above the Level 50 Skills and EX skills will determine what you might want to choose in the end.

For the Blade Dancer class, I will say that it is a combination of acrobat + gladiator class.

Why is that so? Blade Dancer has a skill called Squall Flaker.

This skill works like evasion slash of the gladiator class but better in the sense that you can press the left mouse button after dodging with 0.5 seconds invincibility frame (iframe) to spin upwards which gives you a uplift.

This provides for a counter opportunity with this skill and this is why some consider the Blade Dancer the “PVP” side of the dancer class. An extra iframe skill definitely means alot to PVP players.

Graze Dance EX also provides good utility where a mini-sphere will be left at the end of casting the skill to allow targets to remain in a hit-table state where it provides for more combos opportunities and variations. The casting speed of the skill is also increased with the EX version as well.

Having said that let’s take a look at Wide Stinger. Wide stingers gives the dancer the soul enhancement state which is an additional enhancement state compared to the blade dancer. This state gives 2 skills 90% critical probability.

One of which is General Dunblade the level 32 skill for the dancer class which summons a Samurai-like Genie out which attacks 3 times. The other will be Spirit Dancer’s own Level 50 skill Praetor.

Praetor is basically the summoning of another Genie which slams the ground to produce shockwaves 3 times.

Both General Dunblade & Praetor does huge damage in PVE/PVP and with Wide Stinger’s soul enhancement state upon casting, allows for huge burst damage capabilities for Spirit Dancer in both PVP and PVE.

Not to mention Stalker EX in which the EX Version’s explosion provides for an uplift instead of stagger/flinch provides for that opening to deal this crazy burst DPS.

And just when you think Blade Dancer is meh … I haven’t mentioned the Level 50 skill of the Blade Dancer.

Hurricane Gust is perhaps the main reason why many are choosing to play the Blade Dancer. I call it the grounder-rolling attack but much more awesome than that.

The damage of this skill is madness in both PVP and PVE. You can also guide the direction at which the Hurricane Gust rolls with your cross-hair.

This is the reason why I say that choosing between the Blade Dancer and Spirit Dancer is difficult.

Ultimately, if you prefer a combination and inter-changing pace of fast and slow attacks which require precise execution similar to the acrobat/swordmaster class, go for Blade dancer.

Fast attacks comes from skills like refreshing screw/deadly drill, mist step, twinkle spin, hurricane gust and slow attacks comes from elegant storm, sweet circle EX.

If you prefer a more class that has a mixture of summons (stalker EX) and the ability to create opportunities to dish out burst damage, go for the spirit dancer.

As always I’ve prepared the Level 50 Blade Dancer and Spirit Dancer showcase video to help you see the idea that I am picturing above!

I hope what I’ve written so far helps gives you a better idea in helping you to decide between Screamer or Dancer and then later on the choice for the arch-class that you want to choose.

I know the next thing you will be asking for will be the skill build guides for the respective 4 3rd job classes mentioned here.

Fret not, that are on the next-to-do lists in the coming week.

I find that helping you decide on which class to play will be more important with the release of this brand new class Kali which is why I decide to focus on showcase videos first.

I hope what is shared is useful as always ^_^
