Once again presenting to you people another informative guide from Eternity.

There will not be any Level 24/35 skill build unlike the alchemist guide because there’s no particular skill that you might miss out on during those levels.

A basic outline of this guide will be the showcasing of Lvl 32 Gearmaster (Skyline) and Shootingstar (Demolitian) builds.

After which various Level 40 skill build will also be shown including one which is basically a NO ultimate Skill build.

For all the skill builds mentioned below there will be a mini paragraph to explain some of the important reasons behind the adding/not adding of said skills.

Before looking at the guide, you might want to watch the video below to see a glimpse of how the skills we are talking about look like.

Do watch it if you’re new to the engineer class and have no idea what the skills actually do ^_^

Let’s get on with it.

Level 32 Gearmaster Skill Build

Academic Skill Tree

Get Stun Grenade, Low Cooldown skill which is definitely very useful for PvP as well as stunning mobs in PvE.

Chance to stun is 70% only though.

Wax for mobility, don’t max it yet because you might use up too much SP and affect your total SP which might cause you not being able to add some skills in the Engineer side of the tree.

Max all available basic passive skills like aerial evasion, tumble, physical and mental mastery etc. Whether to get the million weight hammer and air drop is up to your personal preference more for use in PvP in my opinion.

Engineer Skill Tree

So why it’s a gearmaster skill build but yet not getting Mecha Bomber at Level32 even though it’s available for learning?

The usefulness of this skill is the 40% Attack power debuff it does on the opponent it explodes on. However, you will not face any hard hitting monsters aside from cerberus which makes getting transitional damage and biochemical missiles a better choice at this juncture.

You will be able to get all your 3 towers, Gattling Gun, Cannon and Ice Pump Tower at this point which will be bulk of your DPS.

I’ll now move on to the Level 32 Shootingstar Sided Skill build

Level 32 Shooting Star Skill Build

Academic tree is the same as above so I shan’t explain anymore.

For the Engineer Tree

Get all pre-requisites up to Alfredo Hurricane.

Don’t get Mecha Bomber if not you will not be able to learn Alfredo Hurricane due to lack of SP.

You will not be able to get Ice Pump Tower until later when while you’re leveling to 40.

——————————————————-

Level40 Gearmaster Skill Build

Academic Tree

Wax Lvl 7, make sure you get this one.

Whether or not to learn bubble bubble once again up to personal preference.

There are some stage bosses that you can actually immobilize or cancel their skill casting with bubble bubble which you might find useful to get. Get Level 1 and not higher.

Auto Dispenser is definitely a very useful skill to learn at level 35, cost 0 SP why not?

It basically has a chance to spawn hp/mp/def/crit/stun etc types of food which you can use to replenish your hp/mp after a stage boss fight in apocalypse/manticore nest for example, and the cooldown is pretty short if you partner yourself with an alchemist with cocktail.

Engineer Tree

Because you’re going for gearmaster, I believe getting up to transitional damage is definitely very useful due to it’s ability to help divert a percentage of damage taken to alfredo.

Leave Biochemical Missile at level 1, it’s used more for it’s debuff effect of lowered elemental and critical resist than it’s damage (it still does decent AOE Dmg).

Flash Grenade is not a must to learn which meant that you could free up available SP if you didn’t learn it for learning other skills, however, because Academics only have 1 Aerial Evasion, I highly recommend  to learn it to “Save” yourself from getting knocked down during some sticky situations.

If not, just get all the pre-requisites up to Skyline.

———————————————————————

Lvl40 Shooting Star General Skill Build

Academic tree, same explanation as above.

Engineer Tree

Transitional Damage Level 3 (Pre-requisite is 2 for Alfredo Hurricane)

I used the extra SP to get it to level 3 for a higher percentage from 34.6% to 39.2% of damage that Alfredo will absorb with the buff up. Academic class is definitely very squishy and we want to have as much dmg reduction as we can get when this buff is up.

Basically all the pre-requisites required to get Demolition but realize that Mecha Bomber is not learnt.

Refer to another skill build below if you feel that the 40% Attack Power Reduced by a self-destructing Mecha Duck debuff is important for you and your party.

Similarly, there’s no need to learn flash grenade if you don’t see a need to have it. To get Mecha Bomber, you will need to unlearn Gravity Grenade AND Flash Grenade for that to be possible.

See Below for Level 40 Shooting Star Skill Build with Mecha Bomber

Both Gravity Grenade and Flash Grenade will not be possible to learn due to lack of SP.

——————————————————————————————————————–

And finally, I’ll share the Level40 Skill build with NO Ultimates, which is probably what you might want to experiment and explore should you want the best of both worlds which I’ll explain below why.

Level 40 NO Ultimate Skill Build

Not recommended for players not seeing themselves having a Skill Reset Scroll when 50 Cap is released

Highlights

Transitional Damage Level 3 (39.2% Dmg Absorbed by Alfredo with buff up)

Alfredo Hurricane Level 3

Ice Pump Tower Level 3

Biochemical Missiles Level 4

Mecha Bomber ( for 40% Attack Power Reduction Debuff)

In short, it’s basically raising the base damage of all your hardest hitting skills to the highest level you can get in this level cap.

You might want to consider the getting of skill rings which are Attack Power Based (with perfect potentials) to increase all the above mentioned levels further by 1.

This build seeks to maximize the highest possible dps an engineer can dish out without relying on ultimates.

As you saw above, a gearmaster build will be without alfredo hurricane and similarly a shooting star sided build will be without mecha bomber unless gravity/flash grenade is given up.

Hence the consideration of this build is thus in view as it basically gives you best of both worlds just that you will not have an ultimate.

This is basically like a forcer user which finds the damage for eraser and meteor shower being not worth spending the SP for at all. No Ultimate skill builds for Force User at Level40 cap is pretty common.

Note that this is only possible in Level 40 cap because in 50 cap you will need to learn your  respective ultimates to be able to unlock the 3rd job skills!

Hence, as labelled above, do not attempt to use this skill build UNLESS you already have in mind the using of a skill rest scroll once level 50 cap is released.

Well as always I hope this guide has been useful to players of Dragon Nest.

    :< lvled to 32-added ice pump, lvled to 33 added hurricane, 1 hour later readed whole guide, now feels so bad,(dont have scrol…) in the video it was
    Lyz:Hey Mino Brothers!
    Mino:What?

    Lyz:GTFO!!!!!
    ~~~I want to do the same lol
  2. Christian Perez says:
    I play engineer and my build is the last build ( without ULTIs ) with slight modifications. For me, maxing Bio Chem is worthless because of the long cooldown. You can go and max Gatling Tower to level 8 ( see the damage growth at the skill simulator ) and removing Alfie WW which interrupts your beloved Transitional Damage.
    This is only my own opinion and build. Also, I was able to test it and it really dishes a lot more damage that builds with ULTIs.
    • AikawaKazu says:
      hurricane canceling transitional damage is huge @_@ thanks for pointing that out, i’ll edit it as soon as i can
      • Redleather says:
        it does not cancel the transitional damage it will be only delayed but if the alfredo hurricane got canceled by nest boss or any mobs as transitional damage canceled too and ohh i just learnt that alfredo transitional damage cant be stacked if u and the member engr. is different in lvl of transitional damage i remember my friend has lvl3 transitional damage and me has only lvl2 we both used transitional damage the same time at apoc hell nest while fighting apoc with stacked transitional damage apoc used his big mouth firing laser beam!!! and ohh the damage is only 400 but if i has no buff of transitional damage it deals 1/4 of my life =)
        • Redleather says:
          and ohh before i forgot auto dispenser has a lvl2 at lvl70 but u can has a skill ring for lvl2 effect 2 items per 5 sec not so really important just a tip and very not important for fd builds xD
  3. scary.chii says:
    Hey Kazu, can you share her current equips? and why choose manti set over apoc set?
  4. LM says:
    Hey kazu, is Stun Grenade not worth maxing (for Demolition Engineer, if that matters)? And can I know the stats for LV7 Wax? (I can’t seem to find the english simulator…)
    I actually skipped the mecha duck tree to max out gattling / ice pump / pingpong, since these three give crazy DPS.
    • Res says:
      Stun grenade puts off as nice combo in PVP and as well to trigger the hammer for PVE. I am not sure how good it works because I don’t really play academic.
      I am using a chinese simulator. Lv 7 wax is 22% slip, 49% speed increase.
      There is a fair number of people who went your build as I read from cDN. It is all up to your own comfortable control. Some people really hate the ducks AI.
      • LM says:
        Thanks for the heads up! I didn’t add million weight hammer though hahaha. I’m just wondering if Wax is really that useful later on.. Thanks for the stats btw.
  5. nikki says:
    hey kazu..can I ask what build is Lyz using right now? :D .. and what heraldries I need to get? :D haha thanks a lot ^_^
  6. Unknown says:
    where can i find this skill simulator ??
  7. Sleepy213 says:
    the builds are great except for the last one. Since im a pvp type gravity grenades is a must since once a character is caught by GG it will suck ur opponent giving u a chance to combo him. and million weight is a good skill (for me) if ur an engi which fights at close range.
    go go go go mighty duck XD
  8. Hey There. I found your blog using msn. This is an extremely well written article. I’ll make sure to bookmark it and return to read more of your useful info. Thanks for the post. I will definitely return.
