Spiral/Vortex codes are generally known as Geodes. So if anyone said that they got a geode from disassembling an item, it is actually referring to them.

So if you haven’t read the comet dust guide yet, please go read it first if not you wouldn’t understand half of what this page is saying.

General Knowledge

Spiral and Vortex Codes are items you can get from disassembling equipment or by buying a spiral/vortex code pouch from the blacksmith.

You will need comet dust to purchase spiral/vortex code pouches of +7-10 grade.

+11-14 grade pouches need to use sunparks to acquire and we do not recommend anyone to do so at this stage of the game.

Spiral/Vortex codes grants you the ability to enhance an equipment with 100% success rate, yes zero chance to fail at all.

This meant that they are much more reliable than item protection jellies which simply prevents your weapons from breaking.

Do note that spiral/vortex code pouches that are purchased with comet dust are only within +7 – 10 grade, which meant that if you wanted to get +11 and above equipment, you will still probably need to use item protection jellies.

Note that there are currently 7 different naming suffix for the codes

Hairstyle – Used on headgear, helmet, headband etc

Upper Body – Used on chestpiece, robe, etc.

Lower Body – Used on leggings, tights, etc.

Gloves – Self explanatory

Shoes – Used on shoes, boots etc.

Main Weapon – Used on Main weapons, know that Staff IS NOT a main weapon so don’t buy the wrong code.

Secondary Weapon – Used on gauntlet/staff/quiver/shield

Difference between Spiral & Vortex Codes

Doing a simple comparison on the number of comet dust needed to purchase spiral pouches compared to vortex pouches and you will realize that vortex pouches cost more than 2 times more comet dust.

Here’s the reason why.

Spiral codes can only be used on an equipment with a -1 grade of the code.

Meaning to be able to use a +10 Lvl40 Epic Spiral Code (Main Weapon), you will first need to have the +9 version of the main weapon itself.

For Example:

You have in your possession a +8 Lvl40 Apocalypse Sword, you have a +10 Lvl40 Epic Spiral Code (Main Weapon), but no, you WILL NOT be able to use it. You will instead need a +9 Lvl40 Apocalypse Sword to be able to use the spiral code.

Vortex codes on the other hand can be used at ANY LEVEL of enhancement of the equipment, but part of the equipment obviously applies.

For Example:

You have in your possession a +0 Lvl40 Apocalypse Sword, and you have a +10 Lvl40 Epic Vortex Code (Main Weapon). You WILL be able to use the code and your weapon will be transformed into a +10 Lvl40 Apocalypse Sword with 100% Success Rate.

You can also use the same code on a +9 Lvl40 Apocalypse Sword but it will be a waste, might as well buy a +9 Lvl40 Epic Spiral Code (Main Weapon) and sell off the +10 Lvl40 Epic Vortex Code (Main Weapon).

Making money out of Spiral/Vortex Code

Refer to the comet dust guide and find an effective way for you to farm comet dust.

Buy spiral code pouches if you want to upgrade your gears while selling the excess codes.

Buy vortex code pouches if you just want to earn gold, but if you get a +7 vortex code, it’s as good as getting a +7 spiral, at least in most players eyes it is.

Note that a vortex code pouch requires more than 2 times the comet dust for a spiral code pouch.

Always buy in batches of 10 pouches instead of 1 by 1 in my opinion but if you want to try your luck by farming 1 pouch with of comet dust a day, by all means

Disassembling for Spiral/Vortex Codes

During lvl24/32 Cap in DN SEA, there were players who disassembled a bunch of +13/12 Lvl24/32 weapons hoping to get a Lvl40 Epic +10-11 main weapon code, but with little success.

If you’re looking into such a venture with Lvl40 Weapons to get Lvl50 spiral/vortex codes, venture with care.
