So you managed to finish Stage 3 – Lava Golem.
Give yourself a pat on the back
Stage 4 Dark Cerberus is actually a pretty easy stage.
Video Guide Page here : http://www.dneternity.com/2012/06/18/lvl40-sea-dragon-nest-video-guide/
The first thing people will get confused is the mini-map vs the actual screen.
If you noticed, the mini-map is an inverted V.
So the confusing is when someone said “take the left cavern”, are we following the mini-map, or what you see on the actual screen.
To put it simple for everyone, just follow what you actually see.
Whether you take the right or left cavern hardly matters.
For us, we simply took the right one. see screenshot below.
After you have decide which cavern you’re taking.
Note: which cavern you choose doesn’t matter the boss or stage mechanics will be the same. Left side apparently is easier because the tank will be able to tank at the rocks to prevent himself from moving and thus the cerberus will not face the other team members aside from the tank most of the time
Once entering the stage, everyone except for the tank will rush towards the end of that cavern.
Main tank will stay in this area to get ready to provoke the Dark Cerberus once he spawns shortly after the stage starts.
Try to choose a side in which everyone else will keep to, because you want to make sure that the main tank has a clear path to pull the boss to the end of the cavern.
Upon reaching the end here’s what you need to do first.
Eliminate both the dark followers that spawns.
If you notice the Purple AOE Ritual Marking on the ground earlier on, and this one at the end of the cavern.
Whenever the dark followers spawn at the first marking (at the end of the cavern) and successfully move towards the 2nd marking near where the party initially spawned, they will explode and deal massive damage.
Exploding Dark Followers will have chance to 1-shot a party member, and the damage is AOE, meaning anything around the explosion will most probably die.
So the first thing you will need to worry about will be to eliminate these dark followers first everytime when they spawn.
After the dark followers are dead for the first time, make way for the paladin to get the dark cerberus into position.
Everyone else keep to the sides first!
The screenshot of a possible standing spot for the Paladins below
Note: Paladins will always get pushed out of that little space there, other classes must make sure that they are always on the sides or back of cerberus
After the Cerberus is set in position, and paladins have established their threat/aggro on the boss, everyone else can start DPS-ing the boss.
Continue until you hit around 2x HP and here’s where it gets a little tougher.
From 2xHP and below, cerberus will begin to cast AOE Roar.
The roar pushes the everyone backwards including the paladins.
Meaning to say, if the paladin was not back-facing a wall, he will get pushed outwards towards the other party members.
At this juncture, everyone must be extremely careful not to get hit by any of cerberus’s frontal skills.
The one that is extremely painful will be the purple pulsating AOE gravity trap like skill that last for a period of time.
This is why aside from the paladins, NO ONE should ever be near his head at all times, anytime.
Use your Highlander at 2x HP as cerberus will also begin to cast other dangerous skills as well.
Continue damaging the boss until it reaches 1x HP bar.
Note: my party has 2 warriors, 1 swordmaster and 1 mercenary, which meant 2 highlanders. If you only have 1 warrior in your party, use highlander at 1x HP instead.
First priest cast 1 Miracle Relic at this juncture, start burning the boss with all your high damaging skills.
Force User can use Beyond Time as well.
After the first miracle relic is over, 2nd priest can follow up with a second miracle relic as well.
Be confident and burn the boss fast at this juncture with the protection of miracle relics.
Stage 4 for Sea Dragon Nest is not difficult as long as the party members know where to stand and make sure to kill the dark followers.
Our experience with this stage will be the ever-changing position of cerberus due to the boss pushing the paladin out of his area periodically.
Everyone aside from the main tank should always adjust accordingly and stay behind the boss, don’t wait for the tank to get the boss back into position, don’t be lazy to move!
With that, the next stage has 2 variations, the Trio-Lizard Brothers and the Dancing Minotaur Stage.
Both are relatively tough and you should take time to rehearse and ensure everyone knows what to do at each variation.
Hope this written guide has helped you out once again.
